Foggy Beams

Had some ridiculous fog a couple weeks back. Visibility was very low, with the best fog penetrating light I tested you could just barely discern some foliage the other side of the lake (~40 yards).

So I took a few beamshots of some different lights.

4200lm 120kcd

This is a normal beamshot on a clear night in the same location, roughly 5000lm 70kcd out of the edc-light 3x xhp-50.

This is the EDC-light 3x xhp-50 with fog.

This is a zoomie, zoomed out

1200lm 170kcd zoomed in.

Awesome pics!

Last is a zoomie, but which one ?

Nice.

I added some details in OP. I originally thought about making it a little guessing game.

The color seems good zoomed out, so it must be a good lens.
And well you did a review on Jaxmans Z1, that has a good lens, so I guess Jaxman Z1.
(Did I win it ? :stuck_out_tongue: )

Nope, but close.

My Z1 is still fully stock around 53kcd. The light in the picture does have a decent AR lens though. You can see the slight color/tint shift around the very edge of the circle (slightly orangish). The same for the zoomed-in square pic.

I had planned to take several sets of shots at multiple locations, including a new spot shooting across a valley, but alas another foggy night.

3500lm 64kcd. It’s a convoy.

I got to the first spot right as the fog was consuming the last bit of clear air. Pretty neat watching it take over.
