18650 2016/2017 Headlamp suggestions

I love my Skilhunt H03R.
A battery can be had for 5$ like protected Panasonic 18650B.
Just remember the Skilhunt is lighter than the HC60

Also it depends which UI you like, the skilhunt has also adjustable levels of any mode a nice moonlight and firefly mode.

The skilhunt has also a DTP star, while the nitecore often have aluminium boards.
Reflowed a U3-3D for a little le better tint.

The skilhunt uses its buck/boost driver to keep the output constant over hours till the battery depletes.
Shoing turbo and high mode running 3hours, then you notice drop in brighness and can change battery.

Thank you for the input Lexel. will buy the h03 then. BTW what is a DTP star and aluminum boards (sorry for newbie question  ) does the DTP star has advantage over the other? Thanks again! cheers!

A DirectThermalPath copper star leads the heat a lot better than a usual aluminium star away from the LED, so the LED stays cooler
A cooler LED has more Lumens and can be driven harder

A Aluminium board with DTP is better than a normal copper board as the insulator has a way worse heat transfer than metal

Well, thank you for educating a noob like me, as this is also a factor in helping make a decision which light to buy (i.e. headlamp), thank you Lexel!

And that 5000lm will be plenty bright!

Skillhunt H03NW.

Very nice light

Aww, lay off the guy. Thanks to him, I put in an order for a pair of those Boruits.

Never had a headlight before, figure for <10bux, I might as well have one to play with, and a spare in case one busts. Cheap enough…

Probably typed it up in another app & when it was copied over the board didn’t recognize some of the characters (and replaced them with ?).

For the record, since it “came up”… I can post one of several different “ways”.

1) I do have the ability to write and self-edit my posts in such a manner as to appeal to fans of precise grammar. The problem is that I myself am not a fan of such. Far be it from me to seem impolite and gauche but I prefer to ponder, post, and pontificate with what i like to refer to as “local color”.

2) We dont all TALK the same, and communicating on the internet took me a while to get used to all the emoticons and abbreviations and everything… so if we dont all TALK the same, why should we all WRITE the same?

My posts are (typically) L-O-N-G, simply because i can type somewhat fast. I can type at a almost “stream of consciousness” speed, so… I do. I have a somewhat patented way of typing. Personalized? I am trying to capture, in text, the different-ness we all speak with. We use our HANDS and gesture, we have facial expressions, we have tones of voice…

I am trying to make up for that? Eh?

PS - in an unrelated matter? What the &^%$ is a “rude” button? If i am just about to be rude, do i hit THAT button? Or, do i hit that button if i am a social justice warrior and i get “triggered” and “offended” because I am a snowflake? I’ve never encountered such a button before, i’m just curious.

whatever. Sarcasm doesnt always carry well over the internet. I’m not offended, I was trying to poke fun at people who get offended, have a nice day.

I’m a little late but can’t beleive no one has mentioned the Thrunite TH20. Very floody for c!ose up work, very lightweight and comfortable, infinitely dimmable and only $30 on Amazon! My top floody headlamp!
