18650 batteries dying in storage

2150 makes much more sense…they don’t put protected batteries in a laptop.

I used an old chainsaw file… no surviving wrappers. Now that I actually need the shrink tube that is in its way it will get delayed ad infinitum. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll probably dremel next time; I’m pretty bad at keeping a file horizontal.

My Sanyo 2200’s seem to be holding charge pretty well over a couple of days. They started off at 4.21 after charging, and are still reading 4.20. Admittedly two days is not a long time, but they look promising. Overall I think they are going to work fine with any of my lights that don’t need button top cells.

Buying these 12 cell packs is a little like buying a lottery ticket it seems  . You don’t know if you are getting Sony, Panasonic, or Sanyo, so I ordered another one last night just to see what I will get this time  .

At $1.25 each I am certainly not complaining about them. That is cheaper than “X-fires”, and MUCH better, IF you don’t mind unprotected cells. Let’s see, 2 Panasonic unprotected 3400’s, or 12 unprotected brand name 2200’s for about the same price, and shipped from the US so that they will be here in less than a week, NOT A HARD CHOICE, plus it’s fun taking the packs apart 0:) .

Yeah I got 12 of the the pink Sanyo and 12 of a green cell marked SE G5117pl01g. They appear to be Sony?

I did not know any better in the beginning and bought a dozen or so of these cheap recycled batteries!!

They are ALL recycled for good now!! I brought them to Radio Shack!

I only use genuine “Panasonic” cells now. There are several good ones to choose from,Orbtronic, Eagletac, Cytac,AW, ect.

I received my second pack today, and it contained the Panasonic CGR18650C cells as well. I believe that they are 2150’s according to this data sheet http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCkQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.elektroda.pl%2Frtvforum%2Fdownload.php%3Fid%3D484637&ei=FpqWUt-AGIe7kQeDi4E4&usg=AFQjCNHCy-MmV1RE6fP3dOsNFS3Zyc0SnQ&bvm=bv.57155469,d.cGU&cad=rja .

Someone is selling these same pack pull cells on ebay for $5.95 plus $1.95 shipping EACH :open_mouth: . http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Genuine-Li-Ion-Panasonic-CGR18650C-battery-cell-guaranteed-capacity-/321232975673 I much prefer 1.25 each shipped, and do my own pulls  !!!

Yes - that's what I found out, that they are 2150's - good ref on the spec sheet! That guy selling them are obviously pack pulls too, because of the tabs he shows in the pics -- awful... But guess he's got to make money to sell em. Mine actually look better than his photo one after they are all cleaned up!

Wow, I had never seen that before! Absolutely INSANE!!! Talk about SUPER unsafe to charge it (at normal 18650 rates)!!! wow.

I like the awesome external hard drive too, some big nuts in there for weight! haha.
