not allowing retailer to offer discount on popular products is a common practice (at least in Canada). it can stop ppl from "waiting for something to go on sale". if customers know the product will never go on sale, they have one less thing to consider when they pull the trigger and pull the trigger faster. for example all the electronic stores in Canada sell the PS3 at the same price when it first came out. the only thing the retailers can do is to offer free gift to attract customers. perhaps u can try that. sell the E21 at regular price and then offer a free gift for this group buy.

I think Fenix does not want a certain price barrier to be undercut, the customer who complained to Fenix might be another seller like 4sevens, which have a long-standing relationship with Fenix.

The situation makes complete sense; however, don't companies have their own economic freedom to determine what price they sell their items at?

Isn't this problem similar to companies selling items at a price so low, that you can't see the price unless you add it to your cart?

But that price is because of the group buy :~ I haven't bought any of those two lights (yet 8) ), but I really like that Summer told us that they have a problem. Thumbs up for that, and I hope there will be a solution for those who bought Fenix (a steal for that price).

and the ps3 thing isnt just canada. sony, nintendo, microsoft, apple all set prices for their systems/ipod. a store can not sell it for less than they specify. it has to be a more profitable reseller that complained about this group buy price

i think fenix doesnt understand i would have never or would never buy their product unless it had this kinda discount , i almost didnt anyway

once i have there product in hand i may be able to see if i think their qualtiy is worth the premium

B/c i like bang for the buck but also like quality/heavy duty stuff
