The E21 is a great light and a steal at that price. It was my first serious light, and definitely a great SHTF light...excellent build quality, simple two mode operation, forward clicky, AA batteries. You don't hear much about it usually, which is a shame. That being said, I'll take a UF-2100...or should I get another E21...?!!

I'm in for one UF-2100.

I have some slightly disturbing news to relate. Today, Senior DinoDirect reporter Oxy Moron filed this report concerning the UF-2100:

...Instead of the 3-mode UF-2100 I ordered, I received the 5-mode version. Apparently, the same thing happened to at least another member ... It says "3-mode" on the invoice but they shipped the 5-mode version instead. ... As for the light itself, well, it works. I've yet to play with it for more than 10 minutes at a time. ... The assault bezel was loose, there was one minor scratch and there's no lube anywhere. The knurling is surprisingly nice, which is a lot more than I can say for the threads. ... Overall, I'm pretty satisfied. I didn't get what I ordered. I could probably play hardball here but considering that I paid very little for what appears to be a usable light, I think I'm going to let it slide. Maybe the UF-2100 will replace my TF-801 after a while. Maybe not. Time will tell.

It looks like my 3-mode/5-mode experience was not an isolated incident.

Summer: Can you guarantee that DinoDirect will ship out a 3-mode light if the UF-2100 group buy happens? If not, I think it would be a good idea to just offer the (cheaper) UF-2100 5-mode instead because that is what is being shipped out anyway.

Has anyone ever bought an item like a Fenix or other "name"brand lights from a vendor like DD?

I would like the Fenix, but don't want seconds and be disappointed.

I have the e21 (not from DD, but I'd imagine exact same thing) and concur it's a pretty good light. Easy to use two mode twist, and a thick (heavy for alum 2AA) body. A fenix that's actually worth the fairly minimal price premium.
