A203 Titanium/Brass/Copper AAA light on AE

A Chinese knock off of a Chinese made flashlight? I’m just…. not concerned… at all. Sorry but its just the way it is.

How do I swap to the English site?

I hope you do better than I did.
I did a *oogle-search for “A203 flashlight”. Came to an English website. Typical AE style.
Apparently multiple sellers. And lower prices, in US dollar.
Then when I was about ready to fill my cart, I got back to where I started.
Back to the French language, with a higher price and shipping fee in EURO.

So for the time being, no A203 for me. For those prices.
Not that the Cu is really expensive, but for a light that will end (eh, start) up in a drawer……
For that kind of money I can almost buy an Olight. With full warranty.

Similarly here.
I keep checking if they introduced nickel plated alu. If they did - I’d get one immediately. The original is just too damn expensive for a light I know I won’t use much.
But that copper is tempting as well and I have to fight the desire to get one.

Just ordered a brass version. Let’s see what the fuss is about.

On AE there is a pull down menu at the top right that allows you to select your country/currency.
Here is a US/dollars link (OP updated):
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000460116555.html

You can also replace fr in the link for us or en.

Looks like fun, especially in Ti…
I can’t buy any more twisty lights. I already own several twisties that are on the list as “I swear I’ll add a tail switch somehow” and I’m starting to not believe myself. I definitely can’t be adding to that list.

Received mine. These are original Prometheus bodies. Also the package is original Prometheus with Prometheus branding.

Just not engraving on the light and a different driver and led.
I have one mode and a strange xpe2 +–3000k led in mine.

i recived mine also, contacted the seller about the modes
they keep claming it is 3 modes, just really close together

i’m thinking about chaingin the driver and led
anyone have a good recommendation for a aaa or 10440 driver ?

MTN-10DD.

looks nice, anyone use this driver with the user selectable modes on a twisty ?

Very nice find … I’m in for the “purple brass”

Could it be that components are used that didn’t pass QC? Three modes being close together, as the seller said, is strange. But that’s more likely than the presumably random use of different drivers.

Maybe these lights just didn’t match the Prometheus standards.

I don’t think so as there are xpe2 LEDs in there instead of nichias.

well… the only thing for sure is these hosts dont have the 3 mode Lumintop Driver that went into the Prometheus Betas.

3 modes:

1 mode:

3 close together:

My guess is when Jason stopped buying from Lumintop and switched to Olight, the remaining Lumintop bodies went for sale on AliEx, with apparently at east Two different pills. (that is to explain how pat got 3 modes and Geuzzz got one mode)…

Negative, the body is a little bigger than the Lumintop’s.

It’s a fake, clone of Prometheus’. I own both flashlights, will post picture as soon as possible.

Cons:

  • Build quality is far below Prometheus or Lumintop.
  • The thread on head is different than Lumintop tool or worm, so no lego-ed.
  • Groove spacing on the body are too far.
  • The quick release button is too easy to snap.

Pros:

  • Not so expensive (but not cheap too)

I see that this seller now offers also A287, a SS 10180 light.

thanks for the real world confirmation

does yours have one mode or three?

Looking forward to your comparison.
I find the build quality nice and the quick release very sturdy.
