Accidentally de-domed XR-E emitter

This has properties similar to the original dome, and is very handy.

OK I de-domed it... Now it is narrower like a laser, and also it looks like it has lost power.

I could point 200 meter objects very well, and now I can't see light at a 160 meter object.

Weird...

Instead of dedomeing the LED, why not flatten down the dome using some emery cloth? That way you don't break the bond wires or remove the phosphor.

I did it by mistake I soldered a new driver to my Q5 pill for my USA168 I droped it, then I noticed a scratch in the led Dom I tryed to polish it out but the Dom came off in my hand. I might of put to much heat into it while soldering.
