Mine is still running the stock XHP35 HI. I have several other throwers but occasionally consider a swap for the TN42. Have you seen the TN42 V2 with the SBT90.2? It’s $300 but Amazon currently has a coupon for $69 off.
I bought the drivers from Lexel, a longtime BLF member with extensive driver building knowledge. He designed lots of different drivers for upgrading existing lights and contributed to driver design of production lights, too. Unfortunately he is MIA, and we’re all hoping he will come back to BLF sometime.
I sold it because I have several other throwers of similar size with similar performance. I really like the size and look, but just didn’t end up using it. Sometimes I think about buying another one, but only if I could swap the driver to run Andúril.
I went with the 4-mode driver because there is no visible PWM and no extra blinky modes, just four well-spaced modes. Simon even installed a forward-clicky switch for me at no extra charge.
I have a few different OSRAM throwers with white emitters, but the colored versions look super fun.
That body has to be one of the most bought/used/modded lights in existence. I’ve never had one myself but have seen it mentioned everywhere. Where did you sell your Catapult V6 btw? e-bay or here in the forum? Asking in case I ever wanna sell any of my lights.

I’ve bought a handful of lights on r/flashlight without issue, but I’ve never listed any for sale there.
I buy and sell using PayPal, and have conducted both ‘goods & services’ and ‘friends & family’ transactions in each direction. It seems common to ask the buyer to pay the ~3% PayPal fee if they prefer a ‘goods & services’ transaction so they’re covered by PayPal’s ‘buyer protection’ program.
Yep! I am on the Thrunite mailing list. It seems great in theory but I wasn’t happy about having to modify the battery carrier (even slightly) in order for it to take normal 21700s and the stepdown is so fast and so drastic on Turbo. I might just spend a bit more and get the one of the Gigathrowers later on, we’ll see.
That is too bad. Always sad when someone goes MIA that you knew online and you have no way of reaching out. Hopefully they are doing well.
Which is your favorite of those? Do you have the Noctigon K1?
I’ve looked at the C8 a few times and haven’t picked on up mainly because I wasn’t sure if I’d reach for it over the Catapult V6. I do plan to get an Osram light eventually though and I definitely need a few Convoys for my collection. I dig that pineapple-grenade-looking M3 and people seem to love their S2+s.
I believe you max, bought one S21B just a couple of months ago, now I have more than 10 S2+, S21A, S21B, S11 in many LED variations and body colors, it’s really addictive. But now I’ve stopped, no really I won’t buy another.
