I think you're being paranoid. KD has never shilled or spammed this site (or even visited that I know of). However, there are certainly threads around here that are easy enough to find that tell you KD is the only source. Sometimes I will tell people to do a search, but the polite thing to do is point people in the right direction or just provide a link to the product.

I don't want to enter in the shilling dispute so i back on the first question.

I ordered the KD programmable version but i received the 6 mode version. I contact the customer service and they changed the product page (infact the link show the six mode version). Then, after ten mail with they finally shipped the right one (but they didn't change back the product page) and i shipped back the six mode.

The conclusion is... I'm not sure KD still sells programmable akoray...

I stand corrected on my link. It does look like they have changed the description. Given that DX gave out of these long ago and no new supplies have shown up in the meantime it isn't hard to guess that the programmable lights have been out of production for a while and won't be back. That's a shame because it was a really cool idea for a budget light. No idea why they would abandon it. What they really needed to do was update it to a better LED and a higher driving current.

I'm with you. This shilling paranoia is BS. Wait until someone actually does it then just mark it as spam. Has worked fine up til now and no one gets insulted or offended. Nothing like a silly unfounded accusation to welcome a new member.

E1320's offer is a pretty good deal (for those in the U.S.), and he has a solid reputation on BLF. By the way, Tecmo has 8 posts right now and none of those posts make me think he's a shill. I wouldn't accuse anyone of being a shill until there is an obvious shilling pattern. Heck, in this post alone I am more of a shill for E1320 than Tecmo has ever been for KaiDomain. ;)

Thanks for the welcome, no hard feelings. I only wondered why the shilling obsession because there was a poll on the side of the page ever since I've been here about it, and I never had heard that term before! Anyway... thanks for the offer for the Akoray! I was really really wanting one but I saw the thread https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/4111#new and now I'm not so sure. Is the tint really that bad?? Also my R5-A3 clip just broke last night

Just one thing: the last link posted (KD ID 6975) is a K109 that runs on CR123's.

As far as I know there is no one selling the programmable version. If someone knows a link to one, feel free to PM me....

I think KD no longer has it. This is the response I received from KD:

The item shows on the webside already stop production.
they are the same,just the mode is 6 mode.

There used to be the programmable AK-16 for a couple of dollars more that could take CR123A or AA, but KD shows it as sold out.

The tint on the AKOray K-106 is definitely cool white. I took the LED out and replaced it with a neutral(ish) XP-G from KD. Lost a little throw, but a nice light if you don't mind doing just a little soldering.

I tried to get one and ended up with a regular one from focal and gave up on the idea .

You might want to pm bluebeam or do a search with his name and akoray I think he bought the Akoray109 cr123 version .

Sorry to sound like a mean guy but I hate the veiled threats to leave BLF ...Pannaloonie seems like a nice guy and I've enjoyed some of his comments ...But every time i see someone say something like that I think ..oh please just do it..!!! Tecmo welcome to cpf...I mean BLF and hope you shill sell buy all your a Akoray lights :P

Everybody else please no more PMs I sold the K106 I wish I had a box of them I would have hooked everyone up but mine is sold so try plan B I am very sorry.

DX sells a really nice ramping drop in for cheap you can take the driver out and put it in anything you want. I upgraded mine to an R5 it works great.

Something like the UF-2100 with a programmable 3 amp driver would be a real winner.
