On my framelocks it’s usually not missing lubricant that makes them “scratch” but dirt around the detent ball.
I take a piece of paper, pull up the lockbar a bit and slide it between the detent ball and the blade.
Then I open/close the knife 3-4 times, take out the paper with a black spot and the knife is smooth again.
Thanks. I really like it. Besides the pin (that basically makes it a fixed blade) is they any other locking mechanism? I’ll like it better if the pin is a secondary lock.
EDIT: Read further and I guess not:
(Quote from review linked above): “It`s a slipjoint folder but you can convert it into a ”fixed blade” by locking the blade with the provided torx tool. So I guess it`s a UK legal design which you can lock by a little secret tweak if needed”
very lightweight, I don’t have any spydercos so I cant compare, but my fingers are getting sore trying to do the one handed open/close, hopefully I will get better at it. and/or it loosens up a bit, but it’s pretty nice and very sharp like most ganzos
I have what might be one of the ugliest knives I have ever seen. My neighbor with a heart of gold knows I collect a few knives. Nothing crazy or too outlandishly expensive. I think the most expensive knife I have was $100 and the cheapest is probably about $6 or so. He brings this god awful thing over to me about a year ago, I smile real big and thank him for thinking of me. Now it has been in my knife drawer trying to make sure the rest of the knives don’t try and escape. It’s a solid, heavy, spring assisted, razor sharp, shiny damn thing. I just can’t stand knowing it’s in my house. So what I offer is a trade. Now I need a 16650 battery or two but I will take just about anything you want to throw in a padded envelope or something. Ugly flashlight? Fine. Another ugly knife? Sure why not. Maybe we could play Ugly knife swap or something with the entire group. You don’t even have to tell me what you are sending me. Just message me and I will give you my address and I will get yours and ship this darn thing off. If you have to have this more than me it’s all yours.
Thanks a lot. That actually makes sense, it was scratching and with audible noise.
I was suspicious there are dirt on carbon fiber detent ball. So I pointed and sprayed lubricant on the detent ball, hope that it disolve and clean any dirt there. This is my first knife with cf detent ball, so i was thinking WTH, maybe stainless steel ball is better.
(My preferred opening method on these, once I got this method down I use it for all my knives with a hole and am unwilling to go back to any other method!)

The “Spyder Drop” :
Only takes a little practice to master, then you’ll be doing it every time you draw out the knife! It’s just so natural!
No, that works fine, I was referring to pushing the lock and snapping wrist, there’s some vids about this but its tougher on the ganzo cause the lock spring seems stiffer and you cant get much of a grip on the scales due to its smaller size, also the lock has a U shape and its kinda painful when you try it over and over, similar to the G10 pain on the axis models, but iindex finger is being used and abused. it probably is easier to do on larger handle models. I tried some oil on the pivot but seems worse, maybe I will loosen the screw a touch, for $7 your not gonna go wrong if you can find that deal again
