ALL THINGS BUDGET KNIVES

There are two Ti/CF versions of the Hati 95. One of them is what Nugget linked (~115g, dual-track bearing washers) the other weights a bit more (~125g, single track bearing washers) and comes with a slightly different pivot screw (the slot on the screw head is “triangular”).

There is a cheaper G10 version which comes with a milled out steel frame instead of titanium. It also comes with dual-track bearing washers and IMO it’s the best bang for the buck (although the super light weight 115g Ti/CF version is tempting too  ). Here is mine with new Y-start:

To summ it up here’s a weight list:

  1. Ti/CF 115g
  2. Ti/CF 125g
  3. Ti/G10 130g
  4. Steel/G10 144g

Thanks for the weight list.
Didn’t know that there are 2 versions of the Ti/CF

Isti, thanks for your mini-reviews, you really put a lot of effort into them and it is really appreciated, both here and on your blog . If there was a way to give you “rep” I would.

Ta,

SP

Thanks a lot Paul!
That’s the good side of my addiction.

It seems ganzo has done again: ganzo g732 - spyderco endura

It reminds me to the old FRN handle style with the new FFG blade:

Really… From blade design i like from best to worst: tenacious > paramilitary2 > endura.
It is strange that they have not copied the tenacious. I like the 9.5 cm of the g732 over the 8.5 cm of the g729/730 but do not like very much the shape of the g732. Ganzo, make a tenacious!

Isti payback time

Up till now you have made me buy some great knives
Today I got the following Sanrenmu knife, branded Real Steel

Real Steel flipper E771 Sea Eagle G10 spacer and CF scales
Ball Bearing & Liner Lock
Handle: Super skeletonized stainless steel liners, G10 Spacer, CF scales.
All-in-all length: 213 mm
Blade length: 95 mm
Weight: 118 g
Blade thickness: 3.5 mm
Blade Material: Sandvik 14C28N

I had mine at Joe’s messershop for an OK EU price
I am pretty sure You can find it at american stores for less (as always )

This is the best Real Steel knife I have had and it beats many CN clones in fit n finish

(Sanrenmu = Three Blade Wood = 三刃木 when searching taobab.com)

Wow, nice one! Congratulations!
Considering its size and the steel liners it’s surprisingly light weight (118 g).

That Sea Eagle looks really nice.

The low weight is achieved by super skeletonized liners, as seen in this clip

skeleton work is shown from 16:51 in the clip

My only issue is that I don’t have a fitting hex-key to disassemble the knife
It is between my 2.5 and 3.0 mm keys, and I don’t want to tilt the screwdriver and mess things up

Imperial 7/64 size?
Try to find a Bondhus Gorilla Grip hex set or a separate hex bit in your local hardware store.

Great looking knife, found it at Knife Center, G10 is $41 CF is $46. If it’s true Sandvik steel it’s a terrific deal. The H6 model looks impressive as well.

I don’t like so much the “real” Endura, but I like this Ganzo! So strange…!

I would like a Tenacious too!
But for me Ganzo will never do it, they do replica only for expensive models.
A Ganzo/tenacious will be a deal only for people like me in EU…(in Italy you can buy a Spyderco Tenacious for 60/70$!! very expensive for a budget knife :frowning: )

Those RealSteel fixed blade knives look nice . I wonder if any of the Chinese shops have them or AliBaba for cheaper.

Has anyone had experience with this knife before?

It must be awesome because even its handle is made of S35VN!!!

Yea saw that, and that’s why I thought to ask

Looks like those are the cheaper version with liner lock that are all over ali right now, the higher quality C81 (Paramilitary 2) with compression lock are very hard to find on ali anymore. I even read feedback from buyers that got the bait & switch, seller showed photos of the compression lock but sent out this cheap liner lock version instead.

-

The good version has the jumping on the thumb ramps, cheaper liner lock version has no jimping, smooth thumb ramp.

A few months back you could find the good ones but for some reason they’ve disappeared and now its flooded with that cheaper liner lock version. I did see one with the jimping but they don’t show the spot where top lock is located in any of the photos, looks like they’re hiding that area of the handle, so its a crap shoot as to what you’d get.

I bought several of the good ones a few months ago before they all disappeared. I paid around $18.00 each and they’re really excellent quality.
Here’s one of the ones I got, an all black one with scalloped G10 scales (listing still up but shows “no longer available”):

I did find some of the good ones on flea bay recently and ordered one, so we’ll see when it arrives.

EDIT: I found a few of the good ones on Ali, (they’re hiding the Compression lock in the photos) But I verify they have it from Buyers posted photos in the feedback. Also ordered.

+1, The Bondhus are excellent, most of the allen/torx sets in the stores nowdays are really crap, poor fit, soft metal, there’s some real junk out there. The Bondhus are high quality, Made in USA. I use them for work. I’m getting this set of shorty size for my knives with torx (star):
