ALL THINGS BUDGET KNIVES

Similar-ish to the SPITS but only £4.50…….

Obviously not high-end but not bad. Very sharp too.

Got this baby like a few months ago. Best knife i have, it’s the small better F3 one from AE, i’m sure you guys know of it.

But now i kinda want to get an axis lock knife to play with. I’ve seen alot of bad reviews of the Ganzo ones, either it’s so tight you can’t open it with one hand or you get vertical play. Is that just growing pains of Ganzo and are they better now?

If not, i’ll probably go for this baby:

Ball bearings + axis lock = win?

My BK-7 hangs next to the bed.

The Shirogorov Tabargan 95 copy has a smooth action but it doesn’t run on bearings:

If you want bearings with axis-lock have a look at the Shirogorov 110 series:

Did you ever get a different sheath for that Becker?

Just got it for Christmas. The sheath is OK. It has a separate slot for a Remora.

Received it this week.

Very impressed! Great looking knife, texture is not too rough/sharp and it fits perfect in my hands. After some fine adjustment the opening action is very smooth.
There are only two (small) cons, the gimping on the spine of the blade (well the lack off), and the rounded spine.
I have to say, that rounded spine is something you can get use to, and I probably will, but I prefer a sharper or flatter spine.

Got my hands on a G717 too recently, and I agree it is a great piece of folding cutlery.
Round spine did catch my attention too, but I don’t mind it really.

The good:
Solid, hefty construction;
Blade shape and thumbstuds positioning;
Precision of assembly, NO blade play at all;
Sharpest knife I have EVER received stock, and this is to be read in the light of knowing I absolutely find 99,9% of the knives I receive to be unuseably dull from factory.

The bad:
Axis spring is very hard to push, I have other Axis lock knives and this one is pretty hard to get open and closed, plus the protruding lock is actually a bit too recessed to be comfortable, I hope it will.at least loosend up a bit;
Blade travel not really smooth, my G710 is much muh smoother (drops freely, for instance, as lock is disengaged).
How did you improve smoothness thijsco19?

Wondering if there is ever a Group Buy for knives, I would be interested in a small folder in the $20 to $30 range.

For my experience, all ganzos go smoother with time. Open and close X times and you will find smoother.

I loosened the pivot screw just a tiny bit. Now if I disengage the lock the blade can freely open and close.

One thing is the pivot screw for the smoothness of the blade and other thing is the spring tension, that can improve its smoothness when you are trying to open or close the lock system, that always with the use go improving in a few days. It goes auto-adjusting…

That’s true but when I disengaged the lock the blade wouldn’t move freely, so the pivot screw was a little too tight.
It was really a very tiny bit loosened. So it should only improve further.

Yes, for free move the pivot screw is the key.

Just received my CIMA M7 folder from gearbest.
First impressions are fair. Not up to same quality as Ganzo & Sanrenmu.
I have a feeling that CIMA makes better fixed-blades than folders.

Thanks for heads up on this. Received it and very nice.

Now, waiting on this Page Not Found - Aliexpress.com

That is very sleek. I’m waiting on a Spyderco Stretch clone and a genuine (shock horror) Dragonfly that I’ve just ordered from Amazon due to the BIGTHANKS £10 off a £50 purchase code valid today. My next purchase may well be a clone of the Spyderco Techno and I suspect when I order it I will ease off knife purchases for a while as I have enough - for the time being….

Arghh … You made me buy a … … resisted for so long now :slight_smile:

Finally is here in my hand! 22 days from Gearbest/China via NL post with tracking. Ladys & gentleman, my first SpyderGanzo Endura clone! Clap clap clap :bigsmile:

I really like the shape of the blade.

Sharp, smooth, feel good in my small hand…it’s a big folder. Yeah, I’m happy, I like it a lot!
(I was undecided whether to buy this rather than Spyder Ganzo Military…maybe this will the next? Who know? :bigsmile: )

Here is a foolish comparison with a Victorinox Huntsman…Big is better! :bigsmile:

Congrats to a nice knife :slight_smile:
