I contacted Ganzo and they say the G801 has been discontinued. I was really hoping to get one. They are available on amazon.com but they won’t do international shipping.
My Ganzo 727 came today from the Gearbest sale. 11bucks and change? R u kidding? Awesome knife and will definitely buy another ganzo. Is there any other quality brand available on the cheap that I should look out for?
Oh yeah that 727 is awesome, I gifted mine and was pleased about the deal so another is in transit.
Bit I do not understand the fuss of the fixed 801, reviews show a lot of plastic and well I am only going for knifes that have the metal of the blade extend the whole handle not becoming a small part of the handle.
Also those colors IMHO not a lot of class, green plastic parts brr.
So what makes the 801 so special (, for that money a Mora can be bought)?
Brands I recommend are Ganzo, Sanrenmu, Enlan, and a few models of Harnds.
If you like the G727, I think you’ll love the G729 series. Sort of Paramiliary2-ish also using axis locks.
I’m impressed with what you get for the price.
Other than Ganzo, I have some knives from SanRenMu and Enlan, and they are as well built as the Ganzo’s.
Never own a Harnds but heard they are good too, and normally cheaper than the above 3 brands
Well it’s something different to go for and the reviews are generally very good. It’s a bigger broader blade than a Mora with more weight to it and the tang is almost full length, I think more so than the Moras. Moras are excellent blades of course and I have a few. I don’t mind the G801 colours but the bright green would be my least fav of the bunch, (although it would be hard to lose it, unless you wanted to!)
True, but the price has taken a recent leap. Just glad I bought enough for gifting already. it’s bigger than I expected - same size (but lighter than) the Enlan EL01BA I had in the same order.
Ah “tang” is the word I was looking for, well for me it is ckeqr I only want full sized tangs and after playing with the 3 fixed knifes I have, all full tang I added the demand that the rest of the handle should be removable with screws, the wooden parts of the one where they cannot be removed have a little play after working with it an afternoon while I simply get them off the “Browning”

Cool, thx for recommendations. I was eyeing an Enlan but was unsure of quality. It’s nice to get a good knife without killing the ole bank acct.
Does SanRenMu have a Customer Service?
I would like to buy a new blade for my 710+ (chipped a part out of it while trying to break something open)
If not: What are good <25$ replacement knifes with 10-12cm blades?
I have big hands, so I need a big knife
Please with a bit thicker blade than an Opinel
