I read this article about a new technology from LiteCool that produced a beam with 50% of light in 36 degrees, and over 90% efficiency. It sounds similar to what the Wavien collar does, where it reuses the side light to produce a more intense and narrow beam. Obviously it is can not be the same technology so any guesses as to what it may look like?
Sounds like what I tried two years ago. My goal then was improving throw and the method was not as good as a simple dedome, but for other lighting applications I may have been on to something :-)
