Amazon Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Thanks bassoverflow and Tomogchi! It’s my first 18650 light so I have a bunch of questions about batteries and chargers, but I will ask those questions in separate threads in the appropriate forums.

Thanks Lightbringer … so maybe $15 was not too much to pay for it after all?

That’s pretty much what I bought it for. My wife wants a brighter light than the big 4-AA light I bought her from Home Depot last year, which seems to drain batteries ridiculously fast and is nowhere near as bright as she wants. She collects the eggs and locks up the chickens after dark, and she wants something BRIGHT to blast at any poor critter that makes the slightest noise while she’s out there.

I only hope we don’t end up with a flock of blind chickens …

I wish, because then I wouldn’t have to buy one … but no, there’s no built-in charger.

Yes, and I’m sure the high/low/off is all she’s ever going to need or want. Me too if I take it outside once in a while to see what the dogs are barking at in the middle of the night.

Awww, I wish I had known before I ordered! Oh well, maybe next time …

One last question: Do any of you know which LEDs are installed in this light? If not I can always ask the seller, maybe they will know, but this info was not listed in the Amazon product description.

This seems like a good deal for 8g of ARCTIC MX-2 thermal paste on Amazon: $4.49

Prime shipping and sold/processed by Amazon.

If you are needing some and waiting to pull the trigger this might the time.

Last month we had a 3hour power outage. It was before dusk so didn’t get to break out 100 flashlights.
Butt I did hook up my Rockpals 300W Portable Generator I got on a Vipon code. We watched a movie and a recorded video of Battlebots from our 49 inch TV and a TV Box w/attached hard drive. I didn’t have to use it for my CPAP which is one reason I bought it.
You got a better deal than me with that extra $20 coupon.

Took some hoops to loop butt I was able to order another at that price. :money_mouth_face:

Many thanks for the heads up. I just snagged one of these handy Li generators.

Four pretty accurate reviews on a AA stainless steel light .... Price now at $11 and change may make it a deal for someone.

Extra bolt on clip, lobster claw , metal tin and a diffuser are nice additions .

* Added one to make an order over $25 to get free shipping on the Sofirn SC32B kit

They removed the coupon but lowered the price, comes to the same price. Are there any which support 220v as well?

New to Vipon, I see the deal for the Rockpal generator $135, but I cannot move it into my cart. Any help?

You go to amazon to add it to your cart, and then apply the provided Vipon discount code at checkout on Amazon.

I believe that Rockpals deal is over.

I tried to alert you guys to the Rockpals deal in post #1774 and later in post #1820
I fear it’s gone, butt as my late bitin’ granny used to say “There’s more where we came from”
or was that Doris Lessing?

Deal is over. Shoot, must have just missed it. Your granny was wise beyond her 98 yearz:) thank you.

Definitely wise, butt I thought she might be a vampire, biting me all the time
’cepting her teeth were all dull.

Have you seen those tiny little shopping carts on amazon ?? you'll never get a generator in one of those ...What were you thinking ?

They are like the blue phone booths in England, much bigger on the inside. Of course you may have to talk to that odd fellow with the Fez about bringing in anything he is not aware of…

4 Tenavolts AA w/charger $11.90 - again. 30% off (PRIME MEMBERS ONLY?) and Slickdeals code. Just purchased a set.

$12.86 with tax. Thanks for sharing

Oh, why the Hell not? Got another set, tnx!

Anyone know how long they last in, eg, an optical mouse or remote-control, etc.? Don’t think I’ve ever seen any “longevity” spex at low low low drains. Can’t recall when I stuck in a set of alkaleaks in my optical mouse at work, but even a few months’ use would be great, vs worrying about having ’em crap themselves in the mouse like I do with alkaleaks.

Your Welcome!

@Lightbringer - I’ve had a couple in a remote control since Sept. 16. Gets moderate use with cable box. Still going strong but like I believe you have stated, when they’re done, they’re done. They’ll stop working suddenly.

Also. This one is active right now - again. Rockpals 300W “Generator” https://www.vipon.com/product/6526122-

Kewl, tnx!

I might even take to carrying an F2 or that 2×AA LuxPro, then. And always keep the charger in my bag.

The sooner I can burn off those hateful little alkaleaks, the better.

Eg, mum was given (no, not by me, as I know better) a handheld “utility light”-looking COB light that takes 4 AAs. Has an angry little reflector light on the side, and you gotta flick through like 8 modes just to turn the damned thing off. Okay, whatever.

So I keep changing AAs when she grexes that it’s too dim, etc.

Last time? Spring was completely eaten away. I mean completely. Nothing but a brown smear in the area where the spring was. :person_facepalming:

And no remaining salt-block, either, so all the still-liquid ick probably oozed its way down into the innards like The Blob™ and did its thing in there, too.

So yeah, like I said, the sooner those hateful little alkaleaks are just a bad memory, the better.
