From the ZeroAir review. Left is the Wowtac. :confounded:
Thatâs why I ordered the Cool White version, hoping the color is much better than the Natural White.

Thatâs my situation. I have so few AA/AAA doodads (not just lights) that it doesnât really pay for me to âsplurgeâ. A few teevee remotes, thatâs it.
For lights, Iâve been using those EBL 14500s for most, Tenevolts 1.5V for lights that canât handle >3V, LFP for boost-driver lights (brighter w/o frying the circuit), and thatâs pretty much it. Only for those eeee-vil 3ĂAAA lights that Some People insist on buying :person_facepalming: did I think that maybe NiMH might work.
I love the A5, have been using it as a bike light for the past month, itâs super bright and the battery holds the charge well.

Maybe the best post on this subject ...My experience has been exactly the same as above . BUT sometimes people need to learn lessons themselves . I add to this that if some cells are found at about a buck a piece they can be tried . I've paid as little as ,25~50 cents per battery but they all die prematurely .If they pop up really cheaply I'll try some but wouldn't ever pay more than a buck each for Chinese junk ..it's just not worth it when they end up prematurely dying .
Dammit, I missed this one. Anyone know of a similar deal?
i think they die because of overcurrent during charging
if the capacity is really 500 mah, max charge current should not really be over 100-150 ma
chargers can;t set it automatically, most people don;t think to change it, most chargers don;t go that low
that is also a good way to kill 16340s, charge current too high
and the cheap ones that lie about their capacity, are the most liable to this damage
do a capacity test and find out

A while back I bought a common one that takes medium base screw-in bulbs, and I put in LED âbulbsâ. Easy peasy.
FlashPilot:The problem with anything NOT standard Eneloop is they degrade rapidly by comparison. Not standard Eneloop = far less recharge cycles, storage capacity takes a steeper dive as they accumulate charge cycles and they certainly wont continue to cycle for a decade of use. Ive never spent more than $2 per Eneloop and they go on sale all the time. Why anyone would even look at other cells seems pointless. Ive probably been through 20+ brands of nimh AAA and AA cells. The only ones I have not discarded are Eneloop/Duraloops. My oldest AA nimh cells are Eneloops purchased in 1990, and are still being cycled today. As I started accumulating cells, I invested in a pair of Powerex MH-C9000 chargers to assure proper charging/termination/health of the cells. Even with those advanced chargers, all cells not Eneloop gave up before 5 years in the rotation with all my other nimh cells (approx 150 cells total). Stop wasting money to fill the landfill. Standard Eneloops all the way. :+1: Having said that, Im glad to hear some people have weened themselves off alkaline.

I âthird this motionâ, so to speak.
My Powerex Imedion AND Tenergy D cells are now only half their original capacity, refreshing them donât improve them.

Many Vipon deals, like this one, repeat every 24 hours for an unknown number of days. This deal goes active again in about 16 hours. And probably again 24 hours after that.
Of course itâs going to be 12:30 am for the next round. Thatâs way past my bedtime.
between everyone in my family I have three of those ES5000s, they work great!
Got that yard lightâŚgonna blast out the neighbors!

I just installed mine. We will see tonight.
Update : everything is working as it should and it is bright as hell. Good deal for $11.40.
Is there a way to shut it âoffâ on the fixture? I know there is someway to make it permanent âonââŚ
Might need to be able to shut if off if on occasion if blasting the neighborâŚ
It will be hard wired to the garage lineâŚ
Guess I could put an inline switch on it.

No way to turn it off at the fixture. The only settings are Test, 3 different time on periods and 3 sensitivities. You could add a toggle switch.

I have one of these on the garage. It daylights the whole area (and everybody else's!) Definitely recommend. And the motion sensor actually *works*.
Just ordered a WOWTAC A4 V2 for $39.95 in NW with a 26650 battery. Which is $10 off the regular price.
I have the 2x18650 version and it is one throwâin dude.
