10,000mah powerbank with 2x 21700 inside

This is actually a ravpower unit sold under another brand name, since Amazon has banned their sales due to their shill review program. I have one and itā€™s pretty good, 18W usb C PD and solid build quality. Funny how people complained about the charger being ravpower and and not the other made up brand

Good find - I see the 45% off, but how did you get the 15% off?

Yesterday there was an additional 15% promotional code (which is no longer showing today) that was listed below the 45% coupon.

I ordered one which arrived today and Thank forum member "will34" for posting the deal.

It is embossed with the RAVPOWER brand name and hopefully will last and perform as well as the similarly sized ANKER power bank I am currently using which cost twice as much three years ago.

Agreed, thanks @will34!!

Many thanks to forum member will34 for posting the Power Bank deal! I ordered one, too.

I also ordered one as well.

Thanks Will for posting. Mine should arrive later this afternoon. :+1:

Received my Ravpower charger yesterday. Super nice.

Many thanks for posting.

Not a deal, but something I liked.
Been wanting better light in the garage. Have looked at the replacement bulbs with the adjustable wings with a zillion LEDs in them.
Too many reports of failures or nasty blue K color temp.
So I picked up one of these that puts 3 Edison bulbs into a single socket.
Added 3 100w (eq) higher CRI LED bulbs from Costco.
Adjusted them so the lights are at max spread.
Way better, nice even light.
Lots of different suppliers. I always pick something fulfilled by Amazon so I can return it if itā€™s a POS.

Enjoying the new Mini-Split AC and insulated doors in the garage. 75 inside vs 100 outside.

All the Best.
Jeff

Anything to watch for with the mini-split? Did you install it yourself? I have been thinking about getting one.

pennzy,
Went with a Mitsubishi 2 ton. We were having the main central AC redone and had the local contractor install this one as well.
Our garage has north facing doors and often itā€™s actually hotter inside than outside by 6-7pm in the evening. 110F during the hot months.
Replacing the single layer metal doors with R18 doors dropped the temp by 20+ degrees.

The AC guys said that a 1.5 ton unit would be the calculated size for our 3 car.
But the mini-splits spool down if full power isnā€™t needed. So I decided on the 2 ton.
Mine has 1 head unit. That seems to be OK for the open room. 2 heads might be better if there is significant clutter or some room division.

Had to have new 240v breakers and lines run to power the thing.

It is very quiet in operation. Nothing like a noisy window unit. It is so nice to be out there now.
The only thing I would change is the fan operation. On AC the blower runs (slowly) all the time to circulate air.
Wish it could be set to turn off when not in use.
It will do that when in heating mode.

It can with a fairly brain dead remote. Sets temp, AC or Heat, Fan speeds (auto works best).

For extra $$ you can add a regular-ish house type thermostat that does more tricks. Might do that some day.

Since it came at the same time as the new house AC I donā€™t have a handle on running costs.
But it seems to never be working very hard unless Iā€™ve got the doors open.
Donā€™t think itā€™s costing me very much each month.

If I was younger and not redoing the house, Iā€™d think about one of the DYI ones. Iā€™ve watched vids on installs and it seems it isnā€™t beyond a typical handy-guy install.
Mine cost me $5500 or $6500? Done last year and canā€™t remember.
But the best money Iā€™ve spent in a long time.
I get a smile every time I walk out there and donā€™t start dripping with sweat in 20 seconds.
All the Best,
Jeff

Thanks jeff51. I think a diy mini split is my best option since I have casement windows in my house. I just have to get a young guy for the second story ladder work  installing the lines. I might do the first floor and see if it helps any with the second floor. Or vice versa.

Check out https://diysolarforum.com/ Lots of guys are using these units with solar setups ā€” lots of useful info

Thanks, Iā€™ll take a look.

pennzy,
I donā€™t think you will be unhappy with a Mini-Split. The noise difference is worth it in the long run if you intend to stay in the house a goodly long time. Not as quiet as central AC. - But quieter than a fan in the room when itā€™s not working hard (ceiling fan excepted).
Some care where to place the compressor will keep that noise down. Our mini-split compressor is quieter by a goodly amount than the central AC compressor.

Being in PA you probably donā€™t need to throw as much horsepower into the cooling as usā€™ens here in Texas. And the heat in the winter will be a good thing when the north winds blow.

My folks house in MD was larger than ours in TX. They hand a 3.5 ton that worked fine except for one bedroom at the farthest duct run. It never got enough air. In our part of TX a 5 ton is barely enough.

But Iā€™d rather error on the too much vs too little. You can get multi head min-splits that each have a temp control to keep different rooms/zones comfortable.

Lots of older AC threads talk about having too big a unit. Turns on and off too much. Doesnā€™t run long enough to dehumidify. Startup surge wastes too many electrons.

Check first, but I think most of the modern ones have variable speed compressors and can run at lower outputs if the system isnā€™t calling for more cooling.

BTY a good quiet - SLOW - ceiling fan can make a huge difference. A larger fan moving very slow is the way to go vs a smaller fan churning away.
Not much air movement is needed.

Depending on house layout, if cooling is the goal, I think the second floor might be the place to start. Particularity if the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor.
Heat would be best on the first floor.
If you have some sort of open connection between floors a ceiling fan could work wonders there to even out the temps.

Check out things called jump vents. Basically a powered vent to move air from one room to another. These can even used with insulated duct to shuffle air around.

All the Best,
Jeff
