Amutorch AX4 Question

Agree on the UI, but for me it's moddable with a stock size BLF driver -- actually I have to verify this but was with the AX3's.

Dunno if Neal checks in reading anything, but should get the word to Neal on this UI - dunno, but maybe he would have some sway over at Amutorch.

Lately they seem to be push'n these tail/power switch lights which I have no interested in whatsoever.

i got the 5000 k version….very small, very bright….on how many amps is working yours on samsung Tom??? do you have also Emisar? which one is brighter?

Oh boy, might have done tests but not sure - notes at home.

i mean something visible…not 300 lumens:))) still looks like,Emisar is the brightest one 18650 flashlight on the market

Ahhh, not sure what you are saying/asking for. I don't know if the stock AX4 is a true FET based driver, like the Emisars, but if they are, it all depends on the LED's - you need to compare apples to apples. For me of course, I plan to swap out the stock AX4 driver so the driver I use will be as good or better than the Emisar, so doesn't matter to me.

Tom which side switch driver will you use?

I use our BLF driver designs, buy the PCBs direct from OSHPark, and reflow the parts on myself. I got a bunch of triple channel and FET+1's in various sizes and a decent stock of parts.

The boards are either TA or DEL designs, for the most part, all using the ATTiny85 for hosting NarsilM or Anduril.

More in the Amutorch line. One of those X9's was a factory triple SST-40, upgraded to XHP50.2's. Does about 10K lumens, pulls 30 amps form a GOLISI. The TC750 is fully modded with XPL HI V4 3C's, does about 2800 lumens, 65 kcd. One of the AX3's (dual LED's) is modded with XPL HI V2 5D's and does about 2200 lumens, 16 kcd:

AX4 dis-assembleid:

Bone dry thermal grease, not sure how much good it does:

Removed the extra brass ring from the stock driver, transferred to the new driver. New driver is designed by Cereal Killer for the ZY-T11 and it's clones, but is about perfect fit for this light, including the on-board switch. Had to trim the brass ring a little to be sure it clear those 2 pass-thru's:

Got a little further - reflowed the brass ring and the parts, but the switch is tricky - hope it works out. Will find out soon.
