no i meant private message on here REGARDING amazon.ca, not ON amazon.ca, but its ok, you replied this morning.

Light works well, but since this is a mechanical clicky tail switch, the charge port in the head only works if the light is turned on. Instructions say to turn off the light to use the charge port, but it the switch is off, there is no electrical path to the battery.
Oops.

Alas, rebellious C3.

C3 can be charged whenever it is on or off. This is a useful feature for drivers that needs extra light when driving.

But we recommend charging it while turning off.

Something wrong must happen to this C3 while long shipping. Kindly sent me a message on Amazon through your order, I will do my best to fix this issue.

I tried opening the tail switch assembly to see if they had some kind of switch bypass to allow charging with the switch open, but my retaining ring must be glued. A quick check with my DMM reads 570 Ohms, so there is a charging bypass in the tail switch.
When I took the light out of the box yesterday, I verified the light worked then tried charging it with various USB chargers and power banks. I never did get the charge LED to come on, so I removed the battery and charged it in my normal battery charger.
Now that the battery is full, I have retested the built-in USB charging port. Now I do see the charge LED come on, but it only works when I use a USB-A source, it does not work with a USB-C source.
Not sure why it did not work at all yesterday. Maybe, when the battery is really low, it takes a while for the charger to activate. I will play with it some more to find out.
