Zebralight S5310 will be 3xAA and the Q50 will be 4xAA.
Now, when they'll actually be released is another matter. Also they might not fit the "budget" mindset of BLF'ers; they'll be a bit cheaper than the TK41, though.

I've been trying to wait for them; meanwhile, other brands are getting my shekels while ZL pushes back the release again and again....

Personally, I think the market is missing an XML driven by 3 or 4 AA NiMH's. I would prefer a short, fat flashlight body to a long, skinny one. I have a 4AA Princeton Tech Halogen that is a good size basis for such a light.

It exists but not exactly budget: Sunwayman M40A - T6 XM-L | 4 x AA's

@OP - IMO, better to bite the bullet and just get 18650's. AA's simply don't have the capacity to drive XM-L's hard (bright) for extended periods of time (considering if you're using it for bike riding).

There's the Olight S35 and S65 but they're not quite "budget" and it's still far from filling that particular market segment.
I have the Caveman XML (290 lumens) light, a TerraLUX LS300 (300 lumens); both run on 2AAs. And I have a Balder SE-1, that runs on a 14500 (325 lumens) or a single AA. I like the Caveman the most!

Would not be used for bike riding, only used around the house/work/etc.
