anyone know of an optic to suit this board?

As the title says, anyone know of an optic to suit this rather interesting board ?
I was struggling with led-de’s website.

Very floody though, have a search on mtbr forum for beamshots

I believe these will fit.

Or these:

What are you going to power it with? I imagine the battery pack might need shoulder straps.

About an acre of reflector ought to make a mighty thrower out of it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Pilotptk, I’d found those two on led-de and dissmissed them as xp-g, cheers for the heads up. Woody, flood is definitely the aim of the game here, I’ll have a look at the link soon,
Don, I may as well let the cat out of the bag then…

I have this host on the blf courier service.

Chicago x, after a little prodding from ruffles is providing the bits to do this awesome build

When I spotted that 7 x xm-l board, I figured I could build another module if my dad machined another heat sink using this driver as I am planning on adding that driver to my fit40s, the magic fire host would provide a much more pocket friendly solution compared to an inline 3x18650 light. 8)

Im not so sure that the 7up lens that I linked to will fit. Think a different one was used on a few lights on mtbr……

ho-hum, the polymer optics that Pilot linked look better…

Woody

I like the “look” of the hexagonal optics and if the optics fit the board, im sure they can be got into the host  at the moment its all fag packet reckoning as I’m not blown away by the idea of spending €70 on a board and some led’s, but its a definite maybe they also do an aluminium board for less than €50.

it’s doable but it’ll be a massive flood monster. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it’s a lot of money to spend if you’re into throwers  A three up board would be a better compromise (and cheaper too) - does LEDtech.de do those on direct to copper PCBs?

I wonder if that means they might start offering single LED direct to copper PCBs?

FWIW, the lens in the host from Nitro is about 41.6mm.

And if you built this, think of all the money you’d be saving over the Lupine Betty TL:
http://www.amazon.com/Lupine-Lighting-Flashlight-Lumens-Complete/dp/B0074DKGSW/ref=pd_sim_sbs_sg_2

There’s already a 3up board, dry driver and optic on the way 8)

This is for the silly build

Led.de do do single u2’s on copper thats what led me to this pondering……clicking links is bad! :expressionless:

Lupine betty, nice light but way way way to many $

Plus, I’m planning on getting more than 2600 lumen out of the triple, going off chicago x’s numbers. I definitely want more than that from 7 u2’s! J)

It appears that the board is drilled for both of the optics linked above.

Cool. So……what do you think? Its your cunning plan that instigated all this, I’m just running with it.

I use these in a worklight that I build alot. I actually use quite alot of their stuff as I find it high quality and very dependable. Higher in cost I think than other places but really nice.

Here are the LED.... http://www.luxeonstar.com/Luxeon-Rebel-7-LED-Round-Assemblies-s/234.htm

Here are the optics... http://www.luxeonstar.com/Select-By-Lens-Type-s/275.htm

They keep only a few of each item in stock but these folks are good about re-stocking fairly quickly.

Dan.

Only probkem is the host ideally needs a 35mm board. The lens is 41.6mm

That's nothing some boring of the host wouldn't solve...It's only a question of time and money. ;)

Yup — the top of the host (where the board could go) is about 39.4mm. And it’s only that diameter for 6mm; as you go toward the batteries, it shrinks.

Stop it, just stop it…

I’m ill man, in my weakened state I could end up agreeing to anything….
