BTW, maybe I missed this, but this light is AAA only? Or will it take a 10440?

Got my little Ti Tool today, very nice little light! The ONLY thing I can gripe about is that the tail cap doesn’t thread all the way down to meet the battery tube, leaving about a 1-1.5mm gap. I’ll machine the tube down that much and call it a heck of a buy!

Please do not even think about putting 10440 in this flashlight: the absolute maximum voltage for the tail-switch capacitor is 3.3V.
Thanks for that bit of info! I had thought about it. Would it simply let the smoke out of the capacitor, or could it potentially result in catastrophic failure?
Don’t do it Dale! It perfectly fits a new 4sevens preon clip. The clip is not available aftermarket yet (sometime soon?) but will be great when it is.
What price do you think the preon clip will be? I’m thinking to get a similar ThruNite Ti5, remove the clip and make a small batch of titanium?

I’ve seen the Preon clip vs the Thrunite clip on a tool (cpf thread). I find the Preon clip looks a lot better. Shorter, angled, simpler.
The clips at illumn.com are the old preon clip. Not compatible and not the same shape etc.
I think the new preon clips will be $5 or so. If you made ti versions of them I’d gets many for me and friends.

MFG usually don’t sell clips or others unless the model is going to be discontinued, and some extra accessories are still in stock.
