beamshots of 16 lights @ 470m + 195m pic HEAVY!

Hi!

flashlights are good for writing reviews and posing with them - right?

no - they can also be used to illuminate things! really!!

i was out some nights ago and made some beamshots.

(in fact i was trying 3 nights before, but the high powered lights illuminate the dust and moisture in the air so much that its hard to see beyond the wall of light...)

the pictures are not the best, but i hope for my first attempt you can get an imagination of how the different lights perform.

i am sure you can see what seperates the throwers from the flooders and why everyone loves the tint (colortemperature) of the MT-G2 lights...

used flashlights:

  • acebeam X60M
  • acebeam X60 6500Lm
  • acebeam K40M modified
  • Manker godmes
  • nitecore TM16

  • noctigon Meteor M43
  • noname HD2010 modified
  • Olight R20 Seeker
  • shadow TC500 modified
  • uniquefire 1405 modified
  • warsun X65

i sorted the pictures from bright to dim (kinda) on the first location and keep that for the second set.

lets start with the first location:

across the river danube near Krems an der Donau

distance was ~470 meters (1540 ft) to the reflecting sign

I used my Sony NEX-3 for the pictures; white balance set to daylight.

ISO 400 / F5 / 2 sec

1st pic is 18mm / 2nd at 55mm zoomed - no digital zoom

  • acebeam X60M

  • acebeam X60 6500Lm

  • noctigon Meteor M43

  • acebeam K40M modified

  • nitecore TM16

  • noname HD2010 modified

  • shadow TC500 modified

  • nitecore EC11

  • warsun X65

  • Olight R20 Seeker

next location - a dumping ground near Gneixendorf

distance ~195m (640 ft) to the bulldozer

ISO 400 / F5 / 2 sec

unfortunately most of the "unzoomed" pictures in the run where useless ...

Very entertaining!

Damn nice shots!! Good job!

I like that 1504

uups it´s a 1405 (modthread)

in the latest batch seems the HD2010 started a fire on that caterpillar :stuck_out_tongue:

i see that you have a de-domed xp-g2 in the 1405, but what have you done with the HD2010?
i modded my 1504 with a domed xp-g2 on noctigon and direct drive, and also fixed my HD2010 with some wire bypass and an xm-l2 3c on standard alu pill last week. i think the HD2010 pulled ~3.60A.
Your HD2010 looks quite good there in that company i’d say

I would like to know the modifications to the uniquefire 1405 and HD2010.

the 1405 modthread

the 2010 has a dedomed XM-L2 with a DDriver and takes 4.4A afair

great beam shots now call me sick but those beamshots are porn liquor and gambling all in one for me please can you tell me what you had modded in the K40M? And the hd2010?I have been curious about modding one and it actually really did you do to it?!
edit : I see what you did to the HD 2010 a oy what sis the whole setup cost you host and all?

sorry Iam not sure what’s going on with my phone but Iam curious what did you do to the X40?

thanks

@ light junkie:
K40M mod on my blog

@ all:
thanks for your nice words!

there will be a sequel!
last night i ordered a K60…

Very cool, thanks for the pics.

did you received the k60 lately ? What are your thoughts compared to the TM16 and the others?

customs needed 2 weeks to process the k60 :person_facepalming:

i hope it shows up before Friday…

it’s great to see that civilized countries like Germany/Austria have delay in customs like Bronx-italy …lol

Don’t worry mate, it ’s just that the thought of your K60 popped in my mind in this very moment and I said to myself…I have to ask before i forget …that’s all!
Thank you M4D

hkequipment was very helpful looking for my parcel - thanks again Stanley!

in the meantime a MM18 showed up and i might have found a solution for my LD-2 vs. 4S problem.
i try to make further steps to finish my xhp35 with ledil Seanna light…

then i plan another beamshots obsession

unfortunately i have more ideas than time and money…

any update on k60? how is it compared to tm16

i did not make a comparison beamshot unfortunately :frowning:

when i had time weather was bad (autumn in Austria - lots of fog and moist air in the evenongs :frowning: )

but i whould say the K60 has a more neutral tint and tighter spot from playing inhouse.
