Best 26650 Flooder

How about Emisar D4S or DQG Tiny?

Thanks for the videos, they were helpful! I also have been following the convoy S11 and am curious how it will perform once it’s released…might be an even cheaper alternative if the performance is good enough. Is anyone familiar with MHVAST? I had never heard of them before the TS70 was released.

Take a look at Emisar D4S with XP-L HD emitters.

Then strap it to a BLF GT. that’ll check both boxes!

LOL the D4S with XPLHD is a good choice I agree

I thought he was looking for something in-between a flooder and a thrower. The D4S XP-L HD has similar beam intensity and lumen output to the TC20 or the TS70 he was originally considering.

I agreed it’s a good choice. The BLF GT was the joke part, but was it? hmmm a smell a collaboration between a Emisar and whoever makes the GT

I think I’d say D4S. I have a D4 and the D4S seems like a supersized D4. I generally like the UI and beam on my D4 so I imagine that I would like the D4S as the primary difference ought to be that it can sustain higher levels for longer before burning your hand.

I’ve played with the Sofirn SP33 and it’s good but I wouldn’t really call it a flooder. The SP33 isn’t a crazy tight thrower but the beam is tighter than I’d prefer. I also prefer the customizable UI and color temp on the C8F-21700 but the C8F is definitely not a flooder. It is nice to have the option for either discrete levels or ramping with a few quad taps of the button.

I don’t care for the UI on the TC20 while otherwise it looks nice (but expensive).

I don’t like that the S11 has a tail switch. I really don’t like the overhand grip required for use with a tail switch. If I have to hold an e-switch light up high, I just use my ring finger on the button.

I’d just add a note that for D4S (compared to D4) there is no frosted lens option for it. So you won’t get as nice flood beam as with D4. That’s the reason why I have multiple D4, but no D4S yet.

With the uses I have in mind for this flashlight as something that I would throw in a car for travel or possibly loan/share with a friend when hiking, there were a couple reasons the TC20 or TS70 stood out to me:
-Easy UI so that anyone can pick up the light and be able to learn
-USB rechargeable (in case I don’t have a battery charger on hand)
-Bright output
-Won’t get too hot if left on turbo

So, with this in mind I probably wouldn’t go the Emisar route, at least for now

The only thing that prevented me from buying the TS70 outright was that I had never heard of it before, but it basically seems like a cheaper TC20 clone…does anyone have any opinions on whether this light is worth it, or if it is of good quality?

There is one review of TS70 [Review] MHVAST TS70 (Cree XHP70.2, 1x26650) - Outdoor Beamshots Added but so far no beamshots.

I would take a look at the Lumintop odf30c, it has a nice floody beam

I don’t know if it is floody but have you looked at the Wuben…. I can’t remember the model number. LOL

If flooooood is what you want you can always DC-Fix it.

Actually, there are frosted lens options compatible with the D4S, but unfortunately not from Intl-Outdoor. Try looking for Angie-Ledil 2287.

Nice! Now if I could just figure out where the optic in the Astrolux S43S came from…

https://led.cdiweb.com/Products/Detail/C12287ANGIEM2-LEDiL/579128/

I think its a carclo -brand optic….not LediL

Well, the S43S only has a “4” embossed in the center and it appears to be 0.875” in diameter (ie, not 22mm)

Edit: Just read that the S43 uses a proprietary Manker/Astrolux optic.

Probably proprietary Mateminco optic… since the Astrolux S43 is basically a rebrand of the Mateminco S03

G20 and ODF30C

D4S XP-L HD is quite greenish tint. Bright and good flood but not a desirable tint.

When I line up SST-20 4000, Nichia and HD versions of D4S I say to myself “Warm-White-Green.”

It is a great light. Nichia version my favorite.
