Best Budget Thrower with 1 or 2 18650

(EDIT... Oops I didn't realize how old this thread is...)

I am very new to XML throwers so I don't have a base-line to compare with. but FWIW the ultrafire HD2010 I think is worth mentioning here as a single cell thrower. It can be found for $35 at our favorite www sellers.

It draws 4A on a cold start and that climbs to 5A with thermal warming as the 18650 voltage drops. Its a 26650 size but will adapt down to 18650 with the adapter tube. It very easily out-throws anything in my collection except for the 35W and 55W HID spotlights. Amazing little thrower for the size.

Bezel diameter is 63mm across, but the actual parabolic dish measures 52mm across.

I have the first one and I ended up never using it, because it's only two modes and the low is a bit high, the PCBs are identical to the ones on the DRY driver, so I suspect a low value PWM, like 200hz.

The second one is already known to have 180Hz.

I would recommend something else, that has non visible PWM or at least far better than those.

Thanks very much for the advice. I already placed an order for the two aforementioned drivers from DX but it can't hurt to have a spare or two on hand. :)
