I live and Finland and for purchases of 22€ or over I need to pay additional tax and tolls. So I need to get flashlight that costs less than that. Shipping to Finland should be included in price.
Flashlight requirements:
-Under $25 (22€ or $30 is absolute max.)
-Uses AA batteries. Any amount up to 4 is fine.
-Flashlight is for very occasional use. Mostly for stuff like shining light inside computer to change parts or to read some tiny label. However it would also serve as backup in case of blackout etc. I am also looking something durable that can serve for years.
-I am in no rush. Month for shipping is fine.
i am new to flashlight world myself. Q3 is older LED and Q5 is brighter. the SK68 is being produced with either LED, so i ordered the brighter Q5. most flashlight models are produced in RPC and they are cheap!
Come on, we can do better than the sipik.
There’s a deal on Solarstorm SC01 going on, or you can look for a Terralux Lightstar, or a Varta Indestructible 1xAA or 2xAA and I’m sure there’s more.
The SK68 are a bit of a staple I believe. They are good bang for buck which is why they are popular. But I wouldnt agree there isnt much difference in Chinese lights under $50.
Myself, Id prefer a Solarforce L2P for around $34, not AA though. They do make one though, I just dont know what model it is. Solarforce have a decent rep when it comes to quality. And if at later date you want to upgrade it without learning to reflow and buy the necessary tools to do it, a ready made drop in is available for under $20.
An Olight s15 baton with extender. That does run 2 x AA, but also CR123 and I think 14500 li ion. But its at the $50 end.
+1… Sweet light… Think it comes in around $30 with the shipping though… That is a good price on the crelant v21 too, just doesn’t have the same output as the starry light… And more is always nicer….
Cheers
Anton
At least to me price shows price $20 for BLF Edition and $3.67 for shipping so it should fit in $25. I take it is decent flashlight for price? Any reasons to not buy it? Also what is difference between CREE XML2 1A CW and CREE XML2 3C NW? It seems second would cost extra $1. What is the benefit?
Problem with crelant v21 is that they charge over $20 for shipping to Finland so total goes over $40. For some reason only EMS is available for shipping to Finland while there are cheaper options to Italy etc.
I bought the 3C. It's personal preference, you just have to try a few.
It has an issue with sometimes having no output when changing modes. It's in that long thread. Not a big problem IMO, considering the price. Just have to cycle around again.
I bought a Klarus P1A for $22 shipped to Canada, banggood i believe (they may or may not have the same deal today), it takes 1AA (use NiMH for best output) and puts out a claimed 150 lumens (i’d say 100-125)
I started a thread on this a while back so if you search for my started threads you should find it
