2.5A to an XML in a light like this seem spot on to me. Enough but not too high as to be a very significant heat problem.

It seems to me quite likely that its using the same driver as the M7X so that would be -

high light, 2500MA

medium light, 840MA

low light, 125MA

I would be interested as well. Maybe just post here a code that we can use for a period, so that Ric-CN can invoice us on Paypal with the discounted price or something, don't have to be free shipping.

Like i said, i'd get the light just for the unique looks first, performance second. We all have XM-L throwers, but flooders are hard to find and you need zoomies (also not much variety in the market).

Does the driver actually limit the current 2.5A or is it "2.5A" because its direct drive and the half charged ultrafire use to test could only deliver that. The only Yezl I have is the Z1X (3-mode) and it is DD.

I would most certainly have the driver replaced ver soon after inital tests. Perhaps with the KD 2.8 linear one but with an amc 7 somethign chipped off for 2,5A instead.

Also is there a possibility to order the (preferably unbranded) flashlight body for this one? I would not mind building one on my own. Would buy several for experimenting then more perhaps if decent enough.

I just ordered one.. Will let everyone know how it is when it gets here! Will compare it to an improved T8X bought on taobao running at 2.1A.

Hey, Ric! While the shell idea is nice, and I’m glad it is possible, I think what we’d all like to see even more is the 3*XM-L drop-in made available so we can use it in Maglites or Tr-1200’s or whatever it would fit. 52.8mm would be nice along with the same driver that’s in the skyway. :wink:
