hey guys i tried some batteries and different configurations.
The D80 is a bit of a weird tube size its very wide but short and the way thje head screws in kills it so its not compatible with most other tubes.
LG HG2 fits easy so i am guessing most IMR will fit easy and give you the best output…
red rubbish ultrafire BRC18650 fits

list of batteries that do not fit!

black rubbish Ultrafire BRC18650 do not fit
jetbeam JL240 do not fit
samsung ICR18650-30b do not fit they are the protected ones
samsung ICR 18650-32a do not fit
Sanyo UR18650F 18650 do not fit

while i am here the light gets hot quickly not because it heats up but when i pulled it out of the mail it was hot from the 39 degree Celsius day we had today in Sydney! some one save me?

When you say “do not fit” — you mean electrically, the light won’t light up?
(as I have tried five or six different protected cells that physically fit into the light, the tailcap screws down fine — but the light won’t light up)
