It’s made for P60 drop-ins, so you can tailor it to your specific needs. It’s not for “throwing”, but if you have things close enough to see, you’ll appreciate the dimming modes (but no one likes blinkies!!!), as 2.8A on High will light up a room with amazing daylight & make it hard to see some things close at hand.
If you want plain old AA batteries, and don’t mind doubling the price, I love my little Ultrafire U20S! SWMBO “swipes” it constantly, which also makes me smile. It’s not as bright or throwy as the 501b, but for any work you do within your hands’ reach, it’s like the Goblin King said, “That’ll do it!”
I don’t own any lights that I would consider a ‘must have’, mainly because of my ecclectic tastes.
I do think though that everyone needs a monster light. Some kind of user-modded, throw-by-sheer-horsepower battery-burner that carves the red letter of lumen-whoredom on their shoulder with a shining-hot aluminum brand.
In all seriousness, everyone needs at least one P60 host. Sure they’re an obsolete format but there’s just something about them…

I have soooooo many different lights i can select, ( Ti2, Ultrafire UF-T20, a modded 20-mode Uniquefire G10, JacobsA60, Skyray Kings / Kungs, C8, TK35 Clone, and so many more…
but i guess its my collection of stock and modified SK68 & its clones that tops the lists.
+1 these lights are just handy to have. cheap enough to give out for stocking stuffers, i keep one in all my vehicles, bed stand, telephone stand, everywhere.
+1 Mine literally just arrived, looking it over it is pristine and solid. The only negative I can see is the lanyard is a single hole, so tailstanding with a lanyard attached is wobbly and lopsided; however, it’s small enough that I wont be using a lanyard anyway. Far brighter than my L2i. Easily takes the #1 spot for best flashlight purchase.
SK68 clone is a great choice. It's a great loaner light. Most people won't know it's dirt cheap and might think it's an expensive light, but you'll know better and won't mind nearly as much if it gets damaged or lost.
