CANCELLED -- Group Buy for Trustfire TR-S700

I still want one and may just have to breakdown and pay the extra.

Hey B42,

The light itself with the LED option was $87.38. The 3 Trustfire cells were $16.50. I opted for faster shipping via FedEx, which was about $59.00 extra. Aside from the high shipping price to get it here quickly, the light and real Trustfire batteries I consider a steal for them.

I just hate waiting many weeks for lights, so I assume I limit damage to them getting them here fast.

the infinite control seems pretty cool

The price for the light alone is nice, but supposedly the cost of shipping is high because the >2kg weight means lower cost options aren't available. My last shot will be trying to get the light shipped without the box, which will hopefully get the weight under 2kg and allow inexpensive shipping options.

I have now had mine for 10 years and it still works fine but has shown one major problem. The sliding switch and light output control apparently does not truly have a completely off position so that the batteries do not stay charged for more than a couple of months maximum. This is a major annoyance only solved by unscrewing the battery compartment at least a turn so that the batteries positive ends no longer contact the light’s positive terminal. If not then use protected batteries to guarantee not over discharging them inadvertently.

The light is still listed as available from at least one vendor per a Google search, apparently in eastern Europe, but is now far from state of the art. 38oo Lumens is now available, if briefly, from a Nitecore key chain light and Fenix has a similar form and size light that claims 21,000 lumens.

Oh I remember this bad boy. I certainly was intrigued, but never got one. It sure must feel amazing the first time you get it out of the box and hold it in your hands: thick and heavy. Definitely good old days : - )
