Draining a li-ion below 3.0 volts (or 2.5v for some batteries) can cause internal damage, increasing the risk of blowing up (aka thermal runaway, vent with fire).
18650s from laptop battery packs are unprotected (the pack was protected as a whole). Protection PCBs can be brought online and added to each 18650.
Thats what I did and the other 4 cells hold a charge and work great…. Less then $3 for 4 working cells I can live with that lol
I haven’t done testing on them but there hasn’t been any issues while being used in flashlights.
I think I have read the whole thread, but am cornfused as always. Does anyone know what these packs contain? I’m looking for the pink Samsungs. Not interested in the green Samsung 2200s. And certainly not the gray Samsungs, the woofers of the Samsung li-ion line.
I bought some HP packs from this vendor before and they did contain the pinks. Any help would be great. Thanks a zillion.
