I think you are absolutely right,Military weapons or lights require high reliability. If there is an emergency, I think it is better to use a disposable lithium battery, which has a stable performance, especially in cold regions, and 123 batteries have unmatched advantages.
Camera battery (In Chinese:相机电池) I heard that before ,maybe 12years ago。。。now i cannot heard it anymore
This kind of batteries were almost only used for cameras.
I’ve only seen 18650’s at a common store one time.—- Walmart for the solar powered stuff in the garden section, they looked like junk though lol.
Yes, most common are AA and AAA. I use 18650’s for my lights mostly because of the cr123 prices but have a few in my “go-bag” since my light will run on them also and it stays in the car and temperatures during certain times of year are not healthy for rechargeables. Plus storing 18650’s at full charge in the car for a year at a time (when i check everything) will degrade the batteries and i don’t want a half full cell when i need it the most.
Many of the CR123’s are actually made by Panasonic. Duracell, Surefire, Energizer, are all Panasonic. You can find deals on them every so often. I bought 16 Panasonic branded CR123’s for .99 cents each during a sale last year.
In my country CR123 batteries go for $4-6 EACH. I stopped using CR123 many years ago after realizing li-ions can hold a charge for just as long in storage voltage.
BTW I find it extremely ironic (in a funny way) that someone from China collects USA made lights, while US people are switching to Chinese made lights.
Yes ,Surefire seems to use panasonic’s battery, just change the packaging.
Reylight Ti lan is my favorite AA Flashlight !you sold reylight ?Rey is my friend 。
Here in california / bay area AA and AAA are most common.
I can get CR123A in store pretty easily. Usually duracell, panasonic or energizer. Even Surefire branded cells can be found. All are a bit $$$ though, $3 - $5 US. They were most commonly used in 35mm film cameras.
They are not cheap here, usually, $3 each is normal
But they can be on sale
which is good because the shelf life is long, you can buy a bunch and save for later.
wle
I have ordered them in two packs. Its two batteries shrink wrapped end to end. This helps you not put new and old batteries in the same light. This is important.
Growing up, pairs D cells were the most common flashlight battery. I think the cassette tape recorders I had were typically ran on four or was it six?) C cells. Pocket sized portable radios ran on 9V batteries. Portable cassette players (ie Sony Walkman) ran on, I think, 2AA. Penlights ran on AA or AAA.
I never had a camera that ran on a CR123. I didn’t really come across that cell until my wife bought me a couple of Innova flashlights 15 years ago. I put off buying new cells for them because they were$5/each at retail stores. They aren’t quite so bad on Amazon, going for $1.50-2.50 in larger quantities.
It seems that you rarely use this type of battery in your life,We call the D battery “1# battery ” like we call “97# gasoline ” AA is“5# battery ”AAA is 7#
we usually use this type battery to “cook ”(I don’t know how to say that in English ) ,ignition?,Gas stoves。
Nice flashlight ,very beautiful and practical。I think it’s much better than “Fenix rc09 ti ”Olight s1 ti” ,I don’t know why Fenix and Olight use the “ta4” titanium ,this kind of titanium hardness lower than TC4。There are many deep scratches on my rc 09 ti and S15 ti,have not seen this on my lan ti!
Reylight is very good,I like tc4 (You call it “Grade 5”?right ?)And Ti lan ’s head is very thick 。
