The Chinese New Year of 2020 falls on January 25th (Saturday), and the festival will last to February 8th, about 15 days in total. 2020 is a Year of the Rat according to Chinese zodiac.

In China things themselves are not running a “smooth” as they usually do this time of year.
There is an outbreak of the Corona virus, somewhat related to SARS.
So I would not get my hopes on any particular date for the next 4 weeks.
Which means I will most likely have to be patient until mid February before I hear if/when my prize from the Gearbest 11/11 GAW is shipped.
After the Chinese New Year ends it would be a good time to order any small items up to 4 lbs from China before July. That is when new International Postal Union agreement changes will likely raise shipping charges to the US.
On the subject of receiving “free gifts” from our Chinese friends…
Different day, different disease, but some of this may still be applicable. Unless, of course, this Coronavirus can survive outside of human body for much much longer.
