Condolences and best wishes to Fin17

Thank you all !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two days ago I found this violin in a ruined apartment....

Congrats on your new deals thread, Fin17!

I hope you're doing well.

I hear that the Ukrainians are putting up a fierce fight, which is something to be proud of.

Condolences, Fin17.

Praying that you and your brother will be able to go through this difficult time…

I haven’t been on in a while so I just saw these posts. I am so sorry, Fin. So sorry. There is more than enough pain and death in the world without maniacs like Putin and Kirril deciding that Ukrainians don’t know what’s best for them. Stay safe until the sun shines again. My best.

Dear Fin, only today I learned this sad news.
I would like to express my deepest condolences to you
and wish you all the strength you need in this situation.
We will pray for you and your family and that this terrible war will end soon.
Stay safe and take care!

@Fin17 I am just now reading of your loss. I’m so sorry to hear the tragic news and am praying for you as you pick up the pieces and carry on with life despite the loss.

Sorry for your loss Fin17

Once again, I sincerely thank everyone who expressed their condolences.

Here is our house on March 7th.
The two windows on the first floor in the middle of the photo are the apartment of my mother and brother.

August, restoration of the facade of the building.

A few days ago.

Inside the apartments, the old walls were dismantled, new ones were put up.
Water, heating, electricity, gas are supplied to the apartment, not connected.

I think that we will not be able to make repairs and the apartment will have to be sold "as is".
Moreover, I'm against my brother living in this apartment.

Let’s hope that Russia is bled for every penny it takes for the Ukraine to recover from this illegal invasion of their sovereign territory. No amount of money will ever be enough for the senseless loss of life that has occurred.
My wish is that all the people in power in Russia are someday made to face war crime trials, but they are cowardly enough to hide in Russia for the rest of their existence.

^ Amazing how fast they were able to restore the building to some semblance of workable structure & safety.

But yeah… it’s the memories that will be tough to live with. I can imagine the cost of finishing repairs to the apartment would be astronomical as well.

I hope Putin’s Russia atones for this crime and that Ukraine will ultimately get reparations once this war is over, the hope being that such funds would eventually make it to the citizens who lost so much. Again, so sorry for what you’ve had to go through Fin!

I just hope the repairs aren’t premature.

Sorry for your loss, and what you’re having to go through. No-one should have to experience this.

OMG I hadn’t seen this thread.

I hope your remaining family are doing okay Fin17 and have somewhere safer to live. I don’t think anyone can understand the senseless atrocities that are occurring in Ukraine. I’m hoping the support from Australia is helping your country defend itself and helping keep your defenders safe. Rest assured your country is not alone in this conflict.

Hang in there, Fin17!

Sorry for your loss!

Fin, thank you for the update and sharing those photos. I’ve been wondering how you were doing. Are you back in your hometown or still living elsewhere with your brother?

I’ve kept thinking about all the devastation across the country. It’s just so terrible and senseless. But I’ve thought a lot, too, about how Ukrainians will rebuild…it’s just so much and some of the historic buildings and materials just can’t be replaced or restored, such a shame. It’s upsetting that The World isn’t doing more to stop this but I’m glad that my country is continuing to send dollars and equipment to help…glad to see so many other countries also helping in the ways that they can.

I hope, too, that the electricity generation and heating situations will be fixed very soon.

Also…small detail but it’s nice to see that blackened tree on the right side of the photos has rebounded. It looked so burned and pocked with shrapnel wounds from the blast.

Thank you all!

Yes, until the war is over, we will not do internal repairs. Perhaps we will never do this.

I didn't leave Kharkov, I live in another part of the city.

The worst thing is that after February 24, I tried for a long time to persuade my mother and brother to move into my apartment.

Their house is located a kilometer from the TV tower, which was bombed in the early days of the war.

And we agreed that they would come to me on March 8. They were preparing to move when an explosion occurred on March 6.

I am sorry for Fin17s loss, and for countless other innocent lives lost. Quite horrible, and completely senseless. Hopefully survivors will make it through the winter.

My belief is that Russia will not be held accountable for these atrocities.
