The stock regulated driver from the new L2 should work I think. Not sure what power it outputs stock but I am guessing it could be modded for a good power output and would by far be the simplest option in your case.
Thanks my friend, but the original driver does not have it available and I use it in another flashlight. Currently my L2 I have it with an XP-G2 dedom in DD. a greeting

i put a 3v xhp 50.2 in my L2, no donut and the spot is about 80%(?) larger than the ft03 SST-40.
Still very throwy and it deals with the heat very well.
It does however have a yellow corona but i don’t think that’s that big of a deal on a thrower.
I noticed the same with the XHP50.2, but after dedoming it, it got way better!

The L2 with an XHP-35 and Richards 20mm Boost driver is an impressive combination. Takes some work to make it happen but it’s worth it in my opinion.
How much throw do you think it lost? A large hotspot thrower sounds useful.
You can get an idea by comparing the throw between the FT03 50.2 version and the SST-40 version.
735 meters and 875 meters.
That’s not bad for the gain in hotspot you get.
Someone knows how to make the mod of the Convoy L2, precisely in putting the ignition button under the head (like the L6). You saw it in this video and I really loved it!
Yet another L6 mod. Just to experiment and have fun.
Took L6 host from Simon, XHP70.2 and driver from KD.
Soldered R100 onto two R082 already existing there:
Sliced and diced the XHP70.2:
Added extenstion that I had left from L2:
And I was ready to enjoy the result:
Although still floody, seems to throw not that bad for a XHP70. The host gets hot after 3-4 minutes in high but it’s understandable. Heavy, I could use it as a mace.
Well, it was fun to build. Fun to play with it outdoor. But definitely not my size, having it in my jacket’s pocket I start slouching.

No. U can’t make a half-press with e-switch. The mechanical one on the tail just turns on/off. Hi mode is temp. Regulated.
One of those drivers uses a tail switch only and e switch contacts dont do anything.
