If this order gets screwed up by BG I am DONE with BG. I only ordered for a buddy of mine. Considering my past issues with BG, I only bought as a favor for a close friend. Only reason I went back to BG.
I ordered “direct mail” from Banggood, and have now received two letters of demand from a courier company for “customs duties” on an online order with threats of additional costs and (later via SMS)storage fees if I do not pay immediately via EFT. In these demands there is not a hint of information to confirm what order they are talking about. My first instinct was to report it as fraud. They have not responded to my query email either.
46 minutes online chat to a Banggood agent who still did not understand the problem. I give up.
Up to now (100 orders plus) I have only ever been charged customs duty when collecting my order from the post office. I never expected another company to be involved in a direct mail order, or to receive a demand without a shred of evidence.
maybe try call them? perhaps there are new rules for customs this year for your country ? u can always refuse to pay and let it go back but not sure how the money will be refunded for the order. Since i doubt banggood cares if someone has to pay customs…
Banggood attitude is that it is not them asking for the money, it is customs, so not their problem.
My problem is that it is not customs asking me for the money, it is a 3rd party appointed by Banggood, with no supporting evidence, no way to confirm it is not fraud (I have been charged duty only 3 times on 100+ orders), and not the process I ordered or have come to expect. Their approach to a customer is demand first, and ignore queries.
This has left such a sour taste in my mouth I want to just wash my hands of it, write off the L6, and stop ordering things.
ah okay, that sounds weird then… u should contact BG see what they say? its not ok for third parties demanding extra money like some mafia thing….
it could be they ship dropship via that company and the fees needs to be paid by the buyer and not from them im not sure how it works? it looks weird that mail ja…
I already had a 46 minute online chat with Banggood, their consistent approach was that it was not them asking for payment, so I should not query with them. They did not understand that I have a problem with the approach of a company appointed by them, making demands without evidence. I have no problem paying customs themselves, they just don’t get it.

I guess u cant escape the customs checks and fees… is the tracking number the same as banggood sent out ? then i guess its legit.
I am not trying to escape customs, though that would be nice!
I just balk at paying such an unexpected demand letter without any supporting evidence, from a company I have never heard of, on an order that was placed via direct mail and thus should not have involved anyone else.
There is no way I can know if the charge is legit, maybe they make their money by just charging everyone or adding an admin fee despite having been paid for their services already by the sender.
Come on guys. Stop complaining about customs fees. That is part of buying overseas especially China, Hong Hong.
FYI: At least you guys got Convoy L6. The one ordered for my friend since 1-12-2019 has not arrived or will never arrive. Mind you purchased WAY BEFORE CNY.
Also, I will wait until end of week. Then paypal/credit card claim coming.
Can you ask Buffalo to send you some proof about what they want to charge you for? I think it is absolutely reasonable to ask for more information if they forgot about it in the first place.
Just had a long chat with a Buffalo rep. Their attitude is disgusting.
They have added administration fees on top of the “customs fees” which they will only verify through their own Buffalo branded online documentation. I have told them they must either send me customs documents I can verify myself, or send the parcel back to Banggood. I also told them I will not be dealing with Banggood again because of their involvement and the way they choose to approach and deal with customers.
I hope they lose their Banggood account soon.
This kind of nonsense makes me feel sick, and very angry.
I would not pay anything and would request full PayPal refund. You did not receive the package, that’s it. One thing I don’t understand, why do you have to deal with some company Buffalo? Did you choose the company as shipping method? Here in EU, we only pay customs fee to Post Office, Fedex or UPS and prior to that, we receive all paperwork. Btw, they request R54,90 (5 USD)? That’s weird.
