EU people always get new aliexpress listings a few days late, Aliexpress needs to run them through import checks for VAT and stuff. Guess UK is the same.
Does not work for me (Italy) either. Usually after a few days those links work.
Simon, I was told you are selling 5700K 90CRI XHP 70.3 HI but can not find them on the shop - are they not yet visible for EU, or am I searching wrongly?
There was a person who modified S21D by using the 2S2P MCPCB and a 6V 5A boost driver. In that case each LED will be driven at 2.5A. However mode spacing might be an issue since the driver was designed for XHP70.2
519A output 2A: 605 LM, 6A: 1274 LM.
8A Quad = 2A x 4 = 2410 LM.
So yes, about twice the output. It won’t be twice as bright to the eyes though because of non-linear response and stuff like that. But also it only uses 33% more power so it’s still significantly more efficient.
Pretty much any 519A (or B35AM or any R9080 emitter) light review by zeroair would do; they generally come with spectral measurements of various output levels. But to me it is visually obvious–when 519As are driven above 0.5A I begin to notice an unnaturally high amount of blue, and beyond 1.5A it’s enough to make whites look pale.
Perhaps the observation of CRI always lowering does not apply to B35AM. On the other hand, zeroair’s review of the S21D observes a CRI drop from 98 to 95!
I made a quick overlay of your moonlight/turbo plots–thank you for providing them. Once the spectral distribution is normalized, gaining too much blue is equivalent to losing red and green!
Still very good CRI though. I wouldn’t worry about a drop like that. I will never run a 519A at 0.5a max. I’d rather see something with low CRI than nothing with high CRI LOL.
I am not arguing for sacrificing output–I am simply pointing out an additional advantage of distributing power across multiple emitters, aside from higher efficiency and output.
