I hope it has the brass s2+ knurling. That feels so nice in the hand.

Malwarebytes is freaking out about Convoylight.com again.

I don’t know what scripts are running on the site, but it’s freaking out security software and that makes me nervous.

Hmm…
My Malwarebytes isn’t freaking out with Simon’s site.

They just want to keep you from buying more great lamps and parts for modding

Does anyone have a good comparison chart of the various S-class 18650 lights? I’m thinking S2+, S3, S6, S8, S9, & S15. They seem to mostly differ in appearance / knurling. (Aside from the S9, obviously!)

S2+ uses a separate pill and a shallow reflector. S6, S8 has a deeper reflector. S3 uses the same shallow reflector but with an integrated shelf for the LED. I am not sure about S15. S9 is an older model with micro usb charging and a side e switch

4 Thanks

S15 parts are interchangeable with S2+ parts, only difference is aesthetics (S15 has more aggressive knurling).

Came across yet another defective L21B reflector with a much deeper recess for the gasket, this throws the focus way off. Come on @Simon_Mao please carefully check your parts before install.

I wonder how many of these have been shipped out.

For the other US-based shoppers: how long does YunExpress delivery generally take? My Convoy order has been stuck on “Shipment information received” for 4 days now, and I am worried that it might have gotten lost.

For one of my orders last year, the logistics agent within China was SF Express, which was way faster.

1 Thank

Here in TN it takes about 14-16 days.
It typically shows “Shipment information received” for about 4 days then it starts moving.

Thank you so much for the info! I get shipping anxiety very often, and your comment was very helpful.

Looks like we’ll get TiCu T6 soon

6 Thanks

Hopefully some more brass variants are available in the future…

2 Thanks

Just freshly charged my 14500 battery and put it in the T6. I noticed the very brief flicker to 100% once again. I didn’t notice it for a while. I wonder if the driver doesn’t handle full 4.2V too well…

Why hasn’t anyone made a titanium-brass flashlight yet? The gold and silver would flatter eachother much better imho

2 Thanks

Or titanium with bronze?

My custom gasket in focus kits for 3030, 3535, 4040, 5050 leds. This suits a 9mm reflector hole. Shelf thickness of 0.9mm - 1.5mm.

This is for 3D Printing.

Looks like Simon has no interest in using this design, so best to just share with everybody. I’m over asking him.

15 Thanks

The thermals might not work, copper heads are used in Titanium lights as a heatsink, since Titanium is so terrible at conducting heat. A quick google shows that copper can transmit 386 W/m K while brass only does 120 W/m K. So brass transmits heat at less then a third the rate.

It might still work with some low power emiiters though.

Lumintop tool AA titanium

I made myself a titanium-brass TS10 and it looks cool too, thermals are ok, not great, not terrible, but plenty for an EDC light. It’s a neat combination indeed, it’s surprising that there’s so few examples available.

Edit: the tool AA titanium has a copper head but it’s plated to look golden like the clip according to 1lumen, looks slick anyways.

2 Thanks

Sounds like the brass plating solves the problem of brass’s low heat transfer rate, it must have a similar emissivity to copper if they deemed it sufficient for the outer plating
