Seeing Simon has half a million 519a’s in stock has made me wonder how much of a stockpile of various hosts he has ![]()
Hey lads, is the Convoy T8 meant to fit a 16 mm LED PCB? I bought a few hosts to make, and they don’t fit the 16 mm PCBs I have? There is plenty of room in the head to fit a 16 mm PCB?
They use the special MCPCBs with the two nipples on the side
Is it the same MCPCB as the T2/T3?
Thanks lads much appreciated it doesn’t mention this anywhere on the Convoy website, looks like I will have to wait a few weeks before I can use them. I don’t see why a standard 16 mm board wasn’t used.
I asked Simon about driver and MCPCB sizes before
That would be a shame. That MCPCB is unnecessarily unique.
It is that one that INeedMoreLumens linked.
I had to order it, too, since I wanted my T8 to have an LHP531.
Anyone know when the M21k or M26k will be coming out?
I saw something on Reddit talking about "it’ll be coming out during the summer festival " something but I don’t know what the hell did means
Also I’d really like to see the m21f in different colors.
I do like the new switch over the other flat switch like on the m21e which sucks, but would like to see also other colors
Do you know what size that PCB is? I might try and sand down the 16 mm board.
Yea I looked for info on it, and it’s hard to find, I will try to write up a thread. I don’t even know what size boards the T6 uses. My T4 uses a standard 16 mm board.
I wonder why Simon went with that option and not a standard 16 mm PCB?
Because the design with the nipples makes it impossible for the MCPCB to rotate.
From Nipple to Nipple it’s 15.6mm
Body is 14.4mm
And the nipples are 90° off the cable cutouts - if that is understandable?
If you looks at it and you have the cutouts at the top and bottom, the nipples are left and right.
No and I don’t know if Simon knows either. M21J head turned out to be not the best at heat transfer so it needed a redesign.
Where did you hear about this?
I thought the M21K was waiting on a driver?
The special mcpcb is also thinner, might not matter, but probably easier to thin the plastic gasket or use a thinner o-ring if it’s too tight.
This is the first I’ve heard of this, I had thought the issue with the M21J was the driver’s lack of step-down
Cheers, thanks for the help, i will sand one down and give it a try.
If I needed it to stay put and thermal paste wasn’t enough, I could fill the void/edge with solder on the PCB to fit in the cutouts.
Unfortunately I asked Simon about this and he is no longer planning to make this light ![]()
@Simon_Mao
6V 2A driver for B35Am or other leds..what is the input Voltage max? 4,2V?
Also a question for your engineer.. can you add to all drivers in a subgroup menu the option
0,1% - 1% - 10% - 35% - 100% - battery check
Without strobe and sos?
Thank you
Ideally 5 fast clicks for batt check, and not in the normal modes. If 15 or 20 fast clicks can enter programming mode, but 20 regular taps do not, it must be possible to have 5 fast clicks enter battcheck.
(5, so if you want to switch from min to 100% quickly you don’t accidentally trigger battcheck)
