I believe orbotronics 26650 can do 25A, but I need to doublecheck. “Edit : I just checked there is an orbotronics with continuous discharge of 22 A”
Is 2000 lumens sustainable with wuben t50?
It runs on outputs less than Turbo too and with a configurable UI you can certainly set it to have outputs more to your liking. I wouldn’t say mine steps down “instantly” either, guess it depends on your definition of instant? I get around 30seconds on turbo before it steps down using a 40A 21700 Samsung battery. On most of the 26650’s I’ve used with it I get longer before stepping down (not by too much, just a few seconds I guess).
I’m not sure and haven’t tested whether it can maintain 2k exactly, but it has decent heatsinking and is a good ergonomic design. It’s essentially a more compact Klarus with a nicer tint and better UI. With 7 emitters and a compact head it’s clearly floody, but then anything with this many lumens and compact would be.
2000 lumens and a sustainable output in this kind of size body, as we know, isn’t that likely with the current generation of LED’s, they all have a lot of heat to dissipate atm, perhaps you’re just a few years ahead in your expectations versus technology!
From what I remember it took less than 30 seconds to drop the lumens, and it didn’t sustain 2000 but I could be wrong. I used a good 26650 battery, maybe I should have tried with a 21700 but it appeared to me the battery wasn’t the problem.
I think you are right, my expectations are a bit ahead of their time:)
But you never know. Up until recently I thought no flashlight of manageable size under $200 can sustain 5,000 lumens until I tried Acebeam x45 which held it completely stabilized for over 70 minutes until the battery died.
Even when I put the light a the top of the ramp (which I’m not sure, but I suspect is 2k lumens or less), it does ramp down after a few (20 to 30) seconds!
It’s not thermally throttling though as the light is still cool - must be a setting or something, there’s no need for it to be ramping down that soon! Even on Turbo it seems to ramp down at about the same time so it’s presumably ramping down based on timing rather than temp - I know that’s configurable…
Yes I remember trying to play with the settings too and they didn’t make sense to me, like it ramped down when it didn’t have to, so I chose in favor of keeping the emisar d4sv2 whose behavior was more sensible, even though it’s tint was worse and lower turbo levels.
