Light irons are usually not a good thing… They don’t have the thermal capacity to handle tasks like soldering to an object like a big wire or a LED star on a heavy pill/heatsink.

Hello,
the Experts for Soldering Stations are Ersa
But they are “not cheap”
Greece from Cold and Dark Germany
Been using this for all my repairs for about 6 years.
I can´t think any complaints for this price:

Theres a big difference for sure between some of the good brands like Ersa and Weller and the cheap chinese clones.
Forgot to unplug my Ersa soldering iron after work a few times already (yes bad, i know!) and it was running 24h+ each time. No damage, nothing molten, works like it ever did. Dont want to try this with some of the clones …… .
Hi,
New member here.
I have the 4 IN 1 - “X-TRONIC” MODEL #8080-XTS. I have a computer repair shop and we use that there to work on LCD monitors and other electronics. I purchased a second one for my house. Just used it on some Convoy S4 builds. The hotair gun and power supply are useful additions so I don’t have to have multiple dedicated devices on my workbench. The iron heats up extremely quick.
I forgot to turn off my Pace PRC-2000 last week. It noticed that it was getting lonely and turned itself off… just as it is designed to do. First it goes into a reduced temperature mode, then after a bit more inactivity it will turn off the heaters.
