Right. Now they are merely just winning.

Honestly at first I thought you were talking about the paranormal white noise. That’s been around since radio and TVs were invented with vpices and imagines coming through before there was even broadcasting stations
I use to be kind of iffy half believe in that stuff. Until we got bored in Iraq and started playing with digital voice recorders in buildings we would take over. Just to kill time make the night or day go by. After that what I heard I don’t play with ghost anymore

I am a H.A.M. radio dude.
i have some sort of “duty” to tell you the truth about “evp” and spirit voices.
you are hearing RF (radio frequency) unintentionally. since you are not “trying” to pick up radio signals? its therefore “technically” called RFI …RF interference.
a-n-y device that has a-n-y kind of “audio amplifier” stage? can and will pick up all sorts of tiny snippets of random radio signals. cassette tape recorders, digital recorders, boom boxes, guitar amps, am radios, old fashioned airwave TVs.
then, onto the “scares people” devices? curiously… devices that have heating elements have a long history of “talking to people”. Electric ovens, toasters, clothes dryers, etc etc… some models of “heating elements” have sizes and shapes that are particularly adept at picking up certain frequencies.
please believe me, i am not “grasping at straws” to explain the “obvious evidence” of spirit voices… its a well established phenomenon. Its very very rare, but, every once in a while? people with dental fillings have been known to pick up and hear strong local radio stations, lol…
=
for me personally? if someone “believes” in spirits or ghosts or whatever else? thats FINE and dandy. i’m not goping to argue with them, i mean HEY if its kind of their fun hobby? who am i to throw a wet blanket on them and their enthusiasm for their hobby.
but… if someone gets FRIGHTENED or just “uneasy” about it? spirit voices?
shrugs simply buy a CB radio, and start to talk at night to the voices on your CB. Over time in this radio hobby? you will hear all SORTS of stories about people accidentally picking up radio signals.
if you make the “jump” from “bubba CB operator” to “HAM radio dude”?? and you begin to actually learn a little bit about making antennas from scratch, and people building their own receivers and transmitters from scratch ?? you will find it impossible to believe in “spirit voices”
heck, if you get into the “near field” when someone fires up a BIG linear amplifier?? if you re close enough, you can sometimes see flourescent tubes vibrating with eerie blue light, LMAO… you can turn the light off? still does it… you can take the flourescent tube light OUT of the light fixture? still vibrates the eerie blue light, lol…

its kind of ironic to us HAMS… we many times cant get a “signal” in and out to complete a rag-chew… and we can hear Puerto Rican taxi drivers coming over the guitar amps clear as a bell… its kind of funny…
do you know why graveyards and out in the country “spooky” locations are so favorable to recording spirit voices? the signal to noise ratio is more favorable, because you have lowered the strength of local interference. graveyards locations? always out of town and tend to be up on a hill… hmmm…
Ya’ll forgot about those “Kelly-Anne by Kenmore” Microwaves that double as cameras
Now That’s spooky! and so is the microwave.
My poor topic…hijacked, beaten, mugged, raped, and left for dead! :weary:
Kewl… but don’t forget, the first EVP experiments were done in the late 1800s or so, before the airwaves were all polluted with AM stations or ham operators.
Just sayin’…
On the bright side I’ve now watched an embarrassing number of ASMR videos.
Spiritualism was huge at the close of the Victorian age. Spirit photography was also quite popular. Mesmerism & faeries were also popular.
When I was in the military being on driving in big trucks carrying Patriot launchers with its loud engine noise and vibrations it made me absolutely dizzy I could not resist it, good luck I didnt need to drive those
Here is the real band White Noise;
Early Pink Floyd-ey sounding.
Now back to your OP,
I grew up near railroad tracks and used to love an approaching 100 coal car train when going to sleep, the rhythmic pulses just did the trick.
Now I have a small creek next to my house and with the windows open in the summer, the natural babbling is better than any machine that I have used.
Thanks,
Keith
Listen to the evidence of white noise for some people it works great for others like me it just makes us drink more bourbon or vodka before bed. Lived or have lived near or on water tidal/lake/river/pond/cesspool/kiddie pool the beach was always the best but still made me want to be on the beach or go steal the Fountain ICBM down the street and try for that 110mph run. I am 46 years old and have lots of health issues none of which were caused from not sleeping. I have in the last 30 years worked numerous night shifts day shifts and use to be able to stay awake for over 100 hours then sleep for 10-12 and get up and do it again did that for about 2 years straight. Being type 1 diabetic since I was 22 has actually made it easier maybe not good but sometimes fun. Sleep is good and a wonderful thing for many for me its a chore I will sleep some day when they plant me in the garden ass end up so the kids will have a place to park their BIKES!
Pink noise for me please.
But I used them for my work line. Not really a treatment for myself.
I’ll happily trade your white noise for my tinnitus and you’ll never want white noise again. I haven’t heard silence (or much social conversation) in the last 15 years and its getting worse the older I get. Once you discover how valuable and easily destroyed silence is, you’ll come to appreciate it And you won’t want any white noise intruding on that- promise!
Phil
Ya I’ll pm you and we can talk, some of the stories can be graphic. Some of the buildings we took over we had to “dispose” of the occupants.
Everyone’s entitled to their own beliefs and equally right in my opinion. But when you can ask questions in different languages and get legitimate responses not jibber jabber. And these things can give personal details no one knows you’ll smash that recorder. Could get legitimate replies in English or in Arabic or pharsee. Not every time but when they wanted to talk it was obvious. Like asking what’s my mother’s name and playing it recorder back and hearing it. There’s no radio waves on the air that’s going to accidentally intercept your moms name at the time you ask in the language you ask in. Not to mention if you csmr across one that was pissed off. The batteries always drained in not just the recorder everything. Night vision, comms, cameras, etc
I have a 52” Hunter ceiling fan over the bed, on low the big blades and 50 pound motor make an almost silent hum/whoosh as it pushes enough air to be coolingly relaxing. This fan has been on virtually 24/7/365 for 17 years. In the summer it gets put on medium, for a wave of non-stop gratefully accepted air flow. I also have a grandmother clock in my bedroom that my Uncle made the year I was born. I’ve been listening to this clock tick-tock and chime half hour/hour the majority of my life. When I’m asleep, the chiming of the hours rarely ever bothers me and it’s comforting when I’m awake and in pain, giving me something to focus on to get back to sleep. Out here in the country the trains sound off clearly from a mile, two miles away. Dogs barking from well over half a mile in the calm of the night, as the coyotes howl and yip at the trains and owls hoot, cows bellow, all sorts of sounds in the night traveling quite far and easily heard through the storm windows. My wife lets a lot of that keep her awake, I let the clock keep me sleeping until the sound is close enough, odd enough, to stir me and send me on patrol.
I know somewhat of that which occupies the night, as well…
radio interference comments reply……
when i was in college, we had a nasty old tv that would pick up some cordless phones… id hear my buddy “Terry” Hu arguing with his girlfriend in a combination of Chinese, Mandarin and English from time to time. it was funny.
I sleep with a small fan on all the time for the noise.
Last night, the power was out for a few hrs when it was time to go to bed. i could hear my heart beating and my blood whooshing through my veins. it was weird. i still fell asleep though with no problems…… we after i scolded the cats for meowing and making tons of noise that is lol.

DB find out what that fan has in it got to be some alien substance! I had a friend that had a shop motor that was running for over 40 years on low. small draw and high voltage. let me not go into 3phase crap here
No, it’s not that I personally have issue with the other side kind of thing, but my 21 yr old daughter is a medium (I guess that’s what you’d call it)
ooh DB well your daughter is a medium I truly believe in that that could be a very long story can not go into that here. Damn I love getting to know different people on here.
Not more rain Joe! I just got done mowing! Ugh! lol
