Hello where are you guys ordering this bad boy? My best light (for brightness) is a Convoy M1 cool white puts out 900 Lumens . Would this be brighter? Thanks
I got mine too, it’s beautiful, very bright, very pocketable, the XPL-HI has excellent throw for something this size, the gift box is a nice touch, and it only took 9 days to get here on top of a hill in the middle of nowhere from China !! Thnx Simon !!
Well at the very least this new version has stayed consistent with the excellent quality of the original X6. Personally the slippery knurling was the one and only gripe I had with the superb design and machining of the X6.
So this EE X6 version NOT compatible with the future shorty’s tubes then? that is bad news where can we get the original then…….or is this new version all there is.
Don’t be mad I have not yet jumped onto the X6 band wagon. I need more convincing.
Is the size & quality difference really that big comparing with a Concoy C8? I’m getting 139kcd on my last built C8, and that with dedomed XP-L V6s (not even XP-G2). It seems its difficult pushing 100kcd from the X6 with an XP-G2? The advantages of the X6 over the C8 seems to be better quality (which is already not bad) and pocket-ability - its smaller?
I cannot convince myself that its worth looking at the X6? The loss in performance vs the (possible small) pros in quality & size?
You’re talking about the BLF A6 18350 shorty tubes?
It’s the other way around. The BLF (Manker) A6 18350 shorty tubes are not compatible with EE X6 or EE A6.
Originally the BLF A6 was going to be made by EE. But the GB organizers decided to have it made by Manker instead. At the time, it seems like it was believed that manker used the same factory to manufacture their lights as EE. So the lights were expected to be the same. Unfortunately the Manker A6s turned out to be quite different. Including different threads. So the Manker A6 18350 shorty tubes will have threads that only fit the Manker A6 and nothing else.
With the advent of the new version Convoy C8’s with flat black anodizing and square-cut threads the quality is pretty much on par with eachother. However, too most people (myself included) the design and pocket-ability is a helluva lot prettier and easier to carry than a C8, as well as having a bullet-proof heatsink design.
Coupled with the fact that we’ve got heaps of configuration options with pocket throwers and triples makes the X6 an awesome platform for building extremely over the top builds
It’s pretty much all thanks to the incredible members of BLF here that have made the X6 such a desirable flashlight. Krono, Wight, Dale, ToyKeeper, Bugsy, Djozz (incredible emitter testing ;))(I’m sure I’ve forgotten someone :~) they’ve pulled together all their determination and expertise which has resulted in an amazing series of flashlights
In my case the blue AR color of EE lights actually performe very good with warmer tints…much less pink… But that’s the question of taste…
One of the main future of this new version with XP-L hi,is the driver !!!
3,65A on hi and lover modes can be programmed…

I want to buy one of these drivers JUST TO HOOK UP A MOMENTARY SWITCH to the adjusting pins to see if I can end up with an ’ infinitely variable ’ output!!!
No i am talking about the future shorty X6 tubes, referring to jescereal post #217 above here.
There is two shorty tubes being produced one for the Manker BLF A6 & one for the old EE X6 including the EE BLF X6.
Here is the shorty Manker BLF A6 & EE X6 GB thread.
Here are jescereal post.
If this is correct this new version they are selling now is NOT compatible with the future shorty X6 tubes that are made to fit the old X6 & the BLF X6.
