Emisar d4s help - now just an angry rant - closure

I’m opening it up now….

Well…that didn’t take long. I have officially destroyed this light.

I still have nothing but praise for the programming/ui.

As for the light, couldn’t be more disappointed with its delicate nature.

The d4s was my first budget light and might be my last. People trash talk surefire and zl for cost….but I only have to buy them one time and they last forever.

Sorry if you don’t agree with my rant, I’m mad right now.

Now I have an unused 30a 26650 that has no use. Any recommendations?

I also have no use for the carcas of this light.

Anyone local to central tx can have it. Or if you want to pay shipping you can have it. I’m sure some of the parts are good.

I’ve had a {#€(!#@ book of matches last longer than this light.

I’ve had glass drinking cups fall further and not break.

Cometa? L2? DV-S9?

The last is a diving light with magnetic slider switch, <20bux at FT. Great looking light, hella waterproof, fun to play with.

L2 is a possibility.

I refuse to pay money for an ultrafire. I was given an ultrafire fa1102. If I taped a quarter to it and left it outside, maybe a bum would pick it up for the quarter.

But alas, it turns on, my emisar doesnt.

Just double checked….I paid $68 for this crapmaster at mtn elec.

What a waste.

I’ll take it. PM’d

PM’d back. All yours.

I am sure it is easily fixable.

I’m mad that it needs fixin

I know how you feel. Happened to me a few times over the years. A $3500 kitchen appliance my wife insisted on was the last one. Holy crap what a headache that was.

I am confused. Did you find out what is broken or not?

No. I’m not a modder or fixer of flashlights. I opened it up looking for anything obvious.

One time, i thought i broke my blf q8 for no reason. It will not turn on… i found out the o-ring wasnt seated properly… easy fixed…

Oh, okay. You tried to tighten it down though, right? There should be 3 threads. The one at the back with the tailcap, one between the head with the switch and the battery tube and one (could be the culprit) on the front (holding the glass). Just take it at the frontmost and backmost parts and tighten it. Should tighten all threads at once.

Sorry if that sounds dumb but it is the only easy thing I can thing of and which is easy to do. Other than testing it with a different battery.

Mountain electronics might would fix it. Just contact them and tell them what happened. I would be suprised if they wouldn’t help in some manner. Could contact international outdoor flashlights. They may help also. They make them I believe.

Wow, it’s a fairly high cost budget light to give up so easily on it.

I’d wait till I’m cooled down and then have another go at identifying the issue if I were you. There has so be a relatively easy fix if there is nothing physically wrong with the light on the outside, it’s an opportunity to get into some modding maybe too?
I fancy mine it’s just not exactly EDC sized or I’d carry it every day. Cant wait for the FW3A :sunglasses:

You are all correct.

Mtn elec might have looked at it, maybe it deserved another look when I wasn’t mad.

Either way, it is no longer a tool that I can put any faith in…so it’s gotta go.

A lot of folks around here joke about being a tint snob and refuse to carry ugly tint lights, I understand, I am a dependability snob.

I get where you coming from, suppose we all got things we wont tolerate. Man I’d take a broken light like this and try fix it.

how sad :frowning: it shouldnt have died from a fall like that…
