ENEDED

Yeah, it’s very nicely put together.
As we speak i’m tearing it down though.
I’ll open a topic on it because i want to mod it here and there.
The obvious spring bypasses of course, but i think it would be good to put in beefy coils in stead of the rather tiny ones it has now.
Then i can raise the current a little, hopefully getting it to do 12000 Lumen or more. :stuck_out_tongue:
Eventually i want to put XHP70.2 (3A tint) in it, and i’m thinking about different optics too, maybe TIR optics.
But we’ll see about that later…

Im…………kinda interested or maybe just curious

More pics.

Why not?

Where are the pics?

Deal is ON

i neeed to know haikelite mt01 deals

I’m interested!

I have a review sample on the way. As is my usual practice, I will post it to reddit first and BLF about a week after. No actual ETA on the light though.

I don’t know if they changed the battery tube, but the one i just received from Bangood (very fast shipping, only 2 weeks.) The only batteries that will fit mine are 18650 non-protected. 18700’s are WAY to long. none of my protected cells will fit this light, NCR 3200mah 18650 protected, TF Flames original 2400mah Protected, etc. - none of them will fit the MT01 and are to long with the protection circuits on them.

There seem to be some differences based on the pic.

Here are some measurement from MT02 for you to compare with. I suspect they are using the same body for both MT01 and MT02.

  1. Uncompressed spring height: 5.6mm
  2. Battery carrier length excluding tailcap: 72.5mm
  3. Anode contact brass ring height: 3.2mm

i wonder if doing spring bypass is worth it or not since the load is basically shared among 3 batteries so each batteries are only lightly loaded and this light also regulated so the only thing effected by the spring bypass would be a longer regulated ouput.

Mine is the new style MT01 ( with the metal switch) and definitely can’t fit any protected cells. I noticed the Neutral white XHP50.2 has a yellow/green hue around the hotspot in the one i have. (the common tint-shift syndrome that Cree LEDs seem to have in shallower reflectors. I see a MTG2 swap coming for mine.

Ok, another question… Have anyone else seen a weird dimming when the MT01 is on High mode? On my light when turned on high, after 2 or 3 seconds it begins to dim, and continue to dim really quickly and turn off for a split second, than fade back on but into medium mode. when i hit the button it goes back to high mode and does the same thing again.

Can't speak for MT01, but I don't experience that on my MT02 and SC02. I did a quick test on my MT02 (3x18650 similar to MT01). Data shows 30s runtime for first 4 brightness level and 1min for Turbo mode.

Have you try swapping with another set of batteries (button top)?

I bought the Haikelite MT01 CREE XHP50 V2 last week and tracking shows it will be here tomorrow. I really don’t care for neutral or warm color flashlight and usually buy only cool white lights but this looked like a good deal for less than $40 bucks so I got one. It comes in one flavor of 5000K so we will see how it goes. I may end up de-doming a XHP 50 6500- 7000K led and modding it. Would like to find a SMO reflector as well. Can you tell I’m a Flashaholic? Order hasn’t arrived yet and I’m already modding the thing. Ha! It’s hard for me to get around having only one leg, but when I’m used to using the recently acquired prosthetic leg I’ll go get some beam shots for this and my new Klarus XT12GT that came a few days ago. I love the Klarus, it is a monster thrower with a sweet beam and awesome hotspot. :+1:

Most of my cells are to long except for all my laptop pulls. I will have to do a mod to the back contact plate so i can try my higher capacity cells.

i noticed that on my MT02, it dims and then up again but to lower mode and double click is able to go to turbo again but i noticed this happens on almost empty cells so could be a warning that the cells need to be charged?

The cells werw at 4.12 volts, but its likely voltage sag under high current loads with laptop pulls. I will add button tops to my 25Rs to see how they work.
