Found a bypass wire had come loose on one of the carrier springs.I fixed this and on fresh vtc5a batteries i got 19100 lumens on startup 16500@ 30s.It stepped down at 35s on 60c.
Heh… my replacement head was sent by Turkish Post. Should be named “Snail post”. But not losing hope yet. Q8 was eventually delivered… took 2 months but they did it finally
I checked it out. It’s the Elfeland store which is operated by Banggood. I guess the only way to know is to contact them and ask. They can probably tell pretty easy by looking at the lens for 2 wires or 6 wires. The problem comes if they have both versions in stock. It can be hard for them to guarantee one or the other.
If that’s the case, maybe they can do a special order for you to make sure you get the one you want.
Ugh my MF01 driver is now acting strange, i cooled the light under running tap water head down facing down and apparently the water got inside the flashlight into the driver through the side button i know this because i opened the light and i saw small water droplets, i thought this light is IPX 7 rated?
Now when power is connected one of the group blink fast Once, but when i switch the light on either low/medium/high/turbo the 1 group of leds instantly goes to Turbo no mater what mode the light currently at while the rest of 2 group are normal but i can switch the light off as normal.
Honestly, I sometimes suspect it is never even checked. They just look at the seals and such and just make up a rating that seems about right. There are no enforcement of the rules. The companies can say whatever they want.
Is that the V1 or V2? I was really hoping that the V2 would be a good, sorted driver.
Oh yeah, I think I should mention that the MF01 has some competition from the newly upgraded Haikelite MT03. It’s running a Texas Avenger based FET driver from the factory now and does 12k lumen. It’s still the same Haikelite UI, though. No fancy ramping.
Took it for a walk yesterday. Was a bit weird what happened. I think I was just cycling with a single click and it shut itself off, and button was also not lit (should be green). I unscrewed tailcap and tightened it again, and button glowed again, and light worked again. A couple of minutes later it did pretty much something similar. But after that the light worked normally. But one of the odd things was that before my walk when loading the batteries it did a pre-flash. When I got home I measured the cells, and all were discharged to about 3.8V; nothing unusual. When I inserted the batteries again and tightened the tailcap it did a pre-flash again.
Yeah, shouldn’t have trusted their rating i didn’t even think about it, i asked my sons to swim with the Haikelite (SC01 and MT02) to test them and they are fine so i assume at least their Chinese counterpart can do similar oh well lesson learnt. Ordered Lexel’s driver for a replacement maybe about time.
btw. this is the problem that i am having. Video was intentionally underexpose so it wont Overexpose on turbo.
