I can get only those that I have.
How about making a group product request to some decent china based seller? FastTech has this link, for example.
Maybe if we do flood their inbox with 100+ requests for, let's say, a “90+CRI (U bin) between 3000 to 5000K, with Q5/R2 flux at the very least”, they may consider getting a reel of 'em. The good thing about this is the fact that FastTech has zero XP-G3s listed on their site… yet. ![]()
Or some sort of formal request to them, linked to a thread about this subject here.
How does this sounds? ![]()

Good idea. I sent immediately. If someone can make a group buy it will be spectacular. Because I think we wont be able to find high power, high cri drivers any time soon.

Here is the text if anyone wants to edit it or send it:
And you will get smth similar to XP-L HI V5.
Cree wont sell this leds in quntity less than 1000. I don`t think here is enouth demand.
It is better to find a person who can sent this: http://www.cutter.com.au/proddetail.php?prod=cut2929
with lower shipping cost that cutter.
Mouser didn’t make me too happy either…
€ 20.— shipping…
Good idea to request Fasttech

I’ll do it right away.
Would be great to have 3000 - 5000K 90 CRI bare LEDs or on DTP stars for an attractive price.
Dang, forgot to link to this topic…
Sorry? According to the latest ds-XPL datasheet, 90+CRI XP-L HI is available only in 2700-3000K temperature range, with a modest T6 bin at best. Not comparable, and good luck finding them.
CRI is the goal here. Kaidomain has a couple XP-L/XP-L HI 3000K leds of 80+CRI, I believe. This is the best I've seen in this regard. ![]()

Just sent this. A ver si se ponen las pilas.
Replied my own ticket a few minutes after:
Q5/R2 bin at the very least I meant, the higher the better of course.
Cheers ^:)
FastTech's reply hit my email inbox a few hours ago:

…i think, and maybe it was mentioned, that for high CRI we should look at Cree for the colder colours (5000K and up) and look at Nichia for the warmer colours 3000 - 4000K)
Nichia seems to be better at warm white and Cree seems to be better at cold white.
If you want some 5700k 90+ CRI XP-G3 leds in the US, check out Arrow.com. They have free shipping this month and the 5700k LED’s are the best cool white leds I have used.
It you pair them with a 3000k 80+ CRI led the tint comes out very nice indeed, although they do have some tint shift around the outside for those that care.
Still for the price it is hard to argue with getting a few.
I built an S41 with 2x of both LED’s and it has the best CRI / Tint of any light I have so far, including my 219b’s (although the 219’s are a bit whiter but don’t look as natural in comparison).
I plan on building a few triples with these as well.
Has anyone tried the 5700K 90CRI 219B’s that Kaidomain lists? link
Hey TA,
ironically I actually just placed an order at arrow for the 5700k 90cri+ and 3000k 80 cri+ xp-g3s!
Would you mind posting a beamshot of your tint mixed S41? I’ve read from other threads that the xp-g3s have a weird beam profile but I’m curious what they look like when tint mixed.
I wasn’t planning on making a triple but if the beam profile is nice I might have to make an order from mountain!
I can post a beamshot but I accidentally de-domed one of the XP-g3’s while cleaning a spec off the dome. It now has a slight blue UV ring around the outside that was not there before.
That said the beam itself is quite nice, no artifacts or anything like that. There is some tint shift around the spill but I only notice it on a whitewall, outside it is just a nice wide flood beam that is obviously high CRI. Even those that didn’t know what it was commented on how natural everything looked. They really liked the beam.
The 5700k by itself is a good emitter, I get just shy of 1200 lumens out of them maxed out but it is a cold white emitter. Just not my thing now days. That said it is the only cool white light I have built that I don’t plan on getting rid of, while it is cool it is still oddly good looking, just not as easy on the eyes as a warmer tint.
The same goes for the 3000k, they are also quite nice by themselves but very warm. About equal to the 5700k except to the warm side. If you shine one of each at the same spot to see what a mixed tint looks like, thats what made me decide to do it, they complement each other very well.
In a triple I would make the 3rd LED whatever your normal preference is. I plan to build a few triples with 1x 5700k, 1x 3000k and 1x 5000k, they should look pretty good.
I also plan to build a 7x SRK with 5 different tints, just to see what it looks like.
