Starting to see more of it myself, as i tell my kids if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it. :-(

I actually can't even browse the threads with my kids around any more. As of late, a few pics I don't want my kids looking at have popped up in some threads. No nudity mind you, but too suggestive for a "family forum". My wife asked me what those pics were doing in a flashlight forum and I honestly had no good answer.

I personally don't have anything against them, but people don't seem to be honoring any of the forum rules lately.

Rezolution, this reply is not in direct reply to you it is for the general masses to consume. Please bare with me while my exuberance and passion for freedom seep out for a little bit.

As a Father of 6 and Grand Father of, 5 I've always felt that its the parents responsibility to censor NOT the fourm's responsibility. This is so that everyone else is not held to such a low tolerance that it becomes a $#!t Hole like CPF or similar other politically correct, obnoxiously over bearing site. Such sites make me vomit. Young children should never watch R rated violent or sexually suggestive movies. I'm afraid that some of you will need to remove your T.V. from your home immediately, dispose of it now. Would you do that? Hell NO you wouldn't, you're going to make sure you are responsible for your children's viewing especially when its your show. So you want to moderate and censor a web site. Hmmmm Are you lazy, or just want to have everyone adopt your oppressive attitude toward everything? Are we wanting to make this forum just like all the rest out there, because at _____ _______ forum that's what they do ? ( B.S. ) This forum exists and thrives because it lacks the restraint and oppression that other forms shove up your backsides.

So what, someone said they don't like MAC. Well....get over it. Anyone who got their feelings hurt should think about it for a second. Did it really offend you ? Is it worth getting into a wizzing contest over it ? Did someone else state their feelings and you disagree or do you over react. We are all adults here, this isn't high school, you don't have to like or agree to anything and I wouldn't want you to.

All of you have choices, you can agree to disagree or just take it for what it is, words typed out that you are now viewing on a G-damned monitor. I'm not talking about personal attacks or totally flaming anyone but strong objections or poking someone is healthy for all involved especially if it is meant in a friendly or humorous manner and not simply to bash someone. If anyone is deterred by freedom, especially the freedom of ones opinion and how they really feel, they should turn the channel, go to the next thread, don't censor me and the rest of the crowd simply because you are at risk of having your feelings hurt. All I can see in your post is someone who likes to use their “freedom” to belittle and bully others. Seems like you should stay and the rest of us should leave, if we don’t see it your way. I think that was very inappropriate use of your “freedom”. I think your post should be removed from this thread. You may attack me as much as you would like. I think you're reading too much into it friend. I'm not here to belittle or bully anyone, this is a typical "Liberal Playbook" tactic that doesn't work with me. You can vilify me all you like BUT, my opinion stands, my convictions do not change. I used the post as an example of how deep and wide moderation can start and then snowball from there. You can disagree with me all you like. Please go back and re-read the post. The post is for anyone who is over sensitive over politically correct and needs to be shielded not from vulgarity, not from profanity and not from pornographic pics but from adult conversation by adults. Folks are just to darn sensitive! I could care less if one does not like my ipod, ipad, or iball LOL. The things I possess are NOT ME. So have at it! Knock my house, car, cell phone (I have a cheap one), my old comp etc. These kinds of threads do not mean the forum is dieing, going down hill, or in need of more moderation. Someone said "we are all adults" (are we?). Well, as adults we can deal with it on our own. If people INSIST on fighting,tell-um to take it outside (pm)! The dust will settle and we will continue talking about flashlights and funny stuff. This forum is in no danger as I see it. Maybe a few growing pains. Please, lets don"t turn this place into a micro-managed police state. When I talk behind a screen. I talk as though I am face 2 face. Just don"t talk about my momma LOL!

Hi everyone, I'd like to clarify two issues that have come up in this thread:

iPad Compatibility / Editor Issues:
I'm still looking for way to enable a simple post editor by default that works on all devices. The advanced post editor will still be enabled for those who need advanced functionality for reviews, etc. This is not particularly easy to configure on the Drupal backend that we use, which is why I have been holding off. But I hope to have a solution soon. Meanwhile, to post with an iPad or smartphone, please expand the "Input format" menu below the post editor and click on "No GUI Editor".

Inappropriate Content
This is something that does concern me a lot. It's true that most of us dislike using forums that are heavily censored or moderated in a dictatorial way. Some other forums block users or delete posts about flashlight products at the whim of a moderator that doesn't share that opinion. For that reason, BLF was created for users to freely express their opinions about flashlight products. But please keep in mind that this lack of restrictions applies strictly to discussions about flashlight products and should not be confused with freedom to discuss lewd (dirty) topics. The goal of BLF has always been to offer clean, family-friendly content that follows the site rules. So I would like to request that anybody who has posted lewd (dirty) images or used language that is inappropriate for children to please go back and remove it from their posts. I always try to kindly warn users via a PM if I personally notice inappropriate content, and I ask them to remove it. But I can't read every single post on BLF. So please do me a favor and review your own posts from the standpoint of a child on his dad's lap or a woman looking over her husband's shoulder. And please PM me if offensive posts aren't fixed up within a few days from now.

I always hated Apple products due to their rabid fan base, not so much for the products themselves. I'm an android fan myself but am using an ipad2 for casual posting and have less issues with on BLF than I do on mt android tablet running ICS. The auto-correct needs to go though. Pics are no problem nor are any of the rich-text features here.

For heavy posting (reviews and such) I use my laptop.

last month we were in beijing, shanghai, and hongkong on a 2-week vacation with some friends. one brought along an ipad2. i felt sorry for him coz he couldn't even get pix from his camera into his ipad to post on facebook

so why no card slot? apple wants to make a lot more money selling the 64GB version

the same fruit company suing everyone all over the world over silly "patents" like bouncing animations and rectangular-shaped tablets
