Flashlight for kids?

My son had one of those crank-style flashlights when he was very young and he loved it. Kept him busy for a long time.

When he got older, he loved the mini-Maglight his grandfather had, so it was gifted to him.

When he was more responsible, I got him a 4xAA light that made him feel that he was in the big leagues without me worrying about him being burned or facing the risks of lithium ion cells. 1000 lumens or so is impressive to a kid.

It’s a good time to get into the hobby.

Something that also works (if they’re ready for a brighter light but not lithium ion cells) is to give them a 26650 light, but drop in a 3xAAA holder.
In something like the SP33 V2.0, it still gets decently bright, but loses the highest modes since AAA can’t provide enough current.
Once they’re ready to maintain Li-ion cells, just drop in a 26650 to unlock the true potential of their light.

It’s great to see you taking your daughter on walks in the forest, and it’s important to make sure she has a safe and reliable tool to help her explore.
