Is this similar to a Benchmade? A Peng.

I doubt it’s D2 steel. Hopefully it’s 9Cr18MoV with a decent heat treatment.

I was just looking at one of those on AliExpress, Harley branding, Benchmade made quite a few knives for HD, the blue/black scales are a good colour combination. AliExpress I can’t find it on the benchmade website, even in the discontinued Harley knives, the closest looking is the Pika but that’s a backlock.
Looks a bit like the Spyderco Southard with that hole.

An expensive clone is still a clone. Get a Sanrenmu or an Enlan, at least they’re honest. With these, you don’t know what you’re getting.

The MG Harm (Post 19) looks just like the the MG Damm (Post 16). What's the difference other than the tritium vial?

That looks like a BM 806 AFCK (discontinued) model to me.

Product descriptions on Aliexpress never cease to amaze me. Some Chinese company manufactures a cheap copy of a (discontinued) Benchmade AFCK, yet this ad lists the knife as a Spyderco Military/Microtech Tactical. It might even be a decent knife for $30, but a vendor trying to peddle an inferior clone of a Benchmade who labels it with the names of two different knives by Spyderco and Microtech doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence.

I think that’s a trick to get more search results.

Thanks for the good deal link isti242. If you could go back in time, would you repurchase the G10 model, or spend about $20 more for the full titanium scales model?

The full titanium version weights a bit more and also has a titanium backspacer which is slightly protruding forming a kind of skull crusher at the end of the handle. I can live without that.

I think I would buy the G10 version again. (At that time the price differece was bigger and I already have more than enough full titanium frame locks.) I’m satisfied with the G10 version, the cnc milling on the G10 scale is perfect and in black color it looks elegant.

I have a bunch of Kershaw knives and except for my Leek (black finish that is about as durable as Sharpie), I have no real complaints. Keep an eye on Woot.com as they have had a variety of Kershaw and a few other manufacturers as well lately.

My son in law has the Clash and it’s an awesome knife. I asked him why he stopped carrying the Cryo I gave him and he said the pivot pin fell out. Oops. I’m a Kershaw fan boy too, but some of their knives have been hit-and-miss for me. I love the Skyline but mine came with a chipped off tip. Doesn’t affect the functionality but my OCD doesn’t like it very much. But overall as a brand, they make some of my favorite knives. And it’s still fun seeing the wife flick open her Kershaw Brawler to open the mail. She has arthritis and can’t open a regular pocket knife.

I noticed that there’s a G10 version of the Cryo that doesn’t seem to have the quality problems the original had. And I’ve been eyeing that Freefall/Swerve/Flashlight gift pack for $27.

Contact Kershaw about that pin, they will probably ship a replacement with minimal effort. I have a Cryo that I have carried daily for working on 5 years and the only problem I have is that it looks it.

All for around $17 each so I’m not expecting much, however I have had some excellent knives for around the same price from sellers on AliExpress.

Not being fainthearted, I just ordered an AFCK clone with a blue & black handle and without the Harley logo on the blade from a different Aliexpress vendor. I’m highly skeptical the blade steel is actually D2, but I hope the overall quality will be acceptable.

Did you order it with satin or stonewashed blade?
I’m planning to edc mine next week to test the edge retention.
I’m sure the quality won’t disappoint you. Mine arrived with a perfectly centered blade, symetrical blade grinds and solid lock-up. It also passed the spine whack test.

Did you order it with satin or stonewashed blade?

The vendor’s ad says the blade is stonewashed. I recently bought a genuine Benchmade model 710 with M390 blade and blue/black G10 handle. It will be interesting to see how this Chinese copy compares with it. I’m still kicking myself for not buying an AFCK with M390 steel and blue/black G10 handle when Benchmade produced a limited edition a few years ago. I find handles made of blue & black G10 or green & black canvas or linen Micarta to be very appealing.

I regret not to buy the original standard D2 version or the TSEK but at that time I couldn’t realize the merits of this design…
Is the blue/black BM 710 a Knifeworks exclusive?
